Taking BV cream right now, going to take Monistat cream when I'm done. How long should I wait after to start the vaginal Monistat cream? A week?
Don't have to: You don't necessarily have to wait. If you have a yeast infection there is no reason to have to wait. As a matter of fact, since yeast is usually much more symptomatic, I usually have my patients treat it first and then use the vaginal medicine for BV as soon as they finish the yeast meds. Hope this helps. ...Read more
I have an area on my face that got lighter and itches. Someone recommended Micospec cream. What's the difference between Micospec and Micospec BV?
See below: Micopspec BV is Betamethasone 0.1% and Miconazole 2% but Micospec is miconazole alone. I would not recommend to use any cream unless the diagnosis is confirmed by a physician. Even though what you describ look like a fungal lesion (ringworm), may lesions may look alike and confirmation is required. ...Read more
Any suggestions or alternatives to clearing up a BV recurring infection besides Flagyl or creams. I am having no such luck and keep coming .
Good question: It may have to do with the change in the normal bacteria population that inhabits the vaginal ( typically lactobacillus) . Clyndmycin cream for bv.im scared to use it(used it before.i hav anxiety over allergic reactions)will i be ok.also isit supose to burn after insertin?
Why worry?: First you don't know for sure that it burns and thus if you are so worried, just try a little dab on the vagina and see if it indeed does since most people will not likely experience burning. As for allergy, it is impossible to predict but clindamycin is not a highly allergic drug. Thus you should stop worrying so much about the side effects and focus on the positive. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Can I get c diff by taking 2 courses of clindamycin for bv?was re infected during 1st course. would adding the cream increase chance of c diff?
Possibly: Clostridium difficile is an infection in the gut most commonly when one takes antibiotics, particularly clindamycin. This is because clindamycin kills many of the healthy bacteria in your gut, allowing room for C. diff to grow. It may help to take a probiotic together with your antibiotic to help maintain your normal flora. Topical clindamycin cream does not reach your gut so it should be ok. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
