Low dose: I recommend low dose (20mcg estrdiol) for women starting out on birth control. You have all the benefits and hopefully minimal side effects. Unfortunately, not every pill works for every woman and it's difficult to say which pill will work for you. I like Mircette (ethinyl estradiol and desogestrel) or kariva. 100 mg?: The margin of safety is quite high although you may end up with dry mouth and even constipation at higher doses. If Benadryl at 100 mg does not put you to sleep, it is unlikely that higher dose would do the job.
