Help! Is a 1.6 magnesium result low enough to be dangerous if I'm having symptoms that come along with it.
Low Magnesium: Low magnesium (m) levels can cause, muscle spasms, tics, weakness, low calcium and potassium blood levels as well as dangerous cardiac irregular heart rhythms. Review with your doc: Magnesium is one of those minerals that can cause a lot of problems if you take too much of it. The recommended dietary allowance of magnesium is 320 mg; getting this from food sources is entirely safe. Taking more through supplements may cause diarrhea, nausea/vomiting.
