Combination problem: I assume you have had a thorough history and physical with appropriate tests including lung function, chest xrays and CT of sinuses. Many people with chronic cough tend to have a combination of 1-asthma, 2-post nasal drip from allergies and/or sinusitis and 3-silent gastroesophageal reflux. All three must be managed. Probably a cold: Maybe an allergy. Allergy don't cause fevers or aches and pains. You might have swollen lymph nodes ("glands") in the neck with a cold. Allergies to outdoor environmental things like pollens are usually seasonal. Indoor things (dust) are all year round. Cough: Some people have irritation in their throat from their inhaler and can cough immediately following its use. If you are using the advair diskus, (salmeterol and fluticasone) it is a more common problem as it is a powder inhaler. I think you need to have your doctor review your treatment but you should be fine on the long run with it, and rinse your mouth after you use it to avoid oral thrush. ...Read more
