What Is It If A Child Has White Spots In Thier Eyes When Photographed
I have a daughter that is 11 years old and her eyes have some black parts on the sclera. Is it a major problem?
What would it mean when you take a pic and one eye has red-eye, yet the other is milky white in the pupil area?
Needs exam: If this is a new problem, this person needs an exam. There are multiple possibilities from misalignment of the eyes to cataract to a tumor inside of the eye. If this is a child, they should have an exam urgently (within days). If an adult, the urgency of the exam would depend on other symptoms and whether or not they knew there was a problem already. ...Read more
Why is it that my right eye has a warmer tint to it when I look at objects and my left eye has a blue tint?
Normal variation: Color perception is always slightly different in each eye. Normally this is subtle enough that it is not noticed but it will show up on testing. You probably have heightened awareness of these subtle cues - a testament to your perceptive ability. This is not a problem but is a normal variant. ...Read more

Sometimes when my toddler has a cold or is sleep deprived he gets what looks like a black eye under one of his eyes. What is it and should I be concerned? He does not seem bothered by it, but it just looks awful.
My daughter who is 4 years has a red eye now we are observing this white matter at the edge of her pupil. We as parents are concerned.
Conjunctivitis?: It sounds like pink eye. If she has not had an injury, then I recommend you wash the lashes with warm water and baby shampoo. Be careful not to contaminate the other eye. My child cried for a long time on our way home. Now there is a huge red splotch on the white of her eyes. What is this & why? Is it from her crying?
Scleral hemorrhage: A scleral hemorrhage occurs when tiny blood vessels in the eye burst, leaving bright red spots of blood in the white of the eye. We have ringworm in our classroom and it is spreading what can we do our teacher has it in three spots a child has it 2 spots and myself has it 2 times
Ringworm : Ringworm is a fungal infection, no different from an athlete's foot. It's contagious, but not overly contagious. You can't get a fungal infection from someone else without also being susceptible to the fungus, and not everyone is, and not all body parts are equally susceptible. It's easily treated with over-the-counter anti-fungal creams like lamisil, lotrimin, tinactin (tolnaftate) and others. The problem occurs when people see it's all cleared up in a few days and then stop using the cream. Fungal spores live for 30 days, and they don't wash out of clothing, shoes, etc. So unless the infected kids and teacher keep using the cream for 30 days or even a little longer, they'll keep reinfecting themselves. It's not like scabies or head lice, and there is no need to keep your child out of school because of it. But all this information is predicated on it being accurately diagnosed, and it's not scabies or some other infestation which is very contagious. Hope this helps. ...Read more
I have a daughter that is 11 years old and she has black spots on her sclera. Is this a sign for glaucoma or is this just normal for some people?
Pigment deposit: This is a developmental pigment deposit on the whites of your daughters eyes.
