I had a positive HLA B27, positive ANA, positive SM anitobody, and a positive RNP. and Raynauds, is this likely Lupus?
Lupus is a clinical: Diagnosis, made based on the presence of physical symptoms and specific organ involvement and is not a diagnosis made by the presence of a genotype or auto antibody. What symptoms have you had that prompted your physician to do this series of tests? What is the opinion of the rheumatologist seeing you (or are you still awaiting a visit with rheum?) These disorders are complex/overlap. Talk w/ URMD ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What is the difference between having seronegative RA and seropositive besides having RF negative in blood test? Is seroneg still an RA diagnostic?
They don`t mean much: These tests are within normal limits and don`t mean much. Tests can be negative in the presence of disease and positive in normal people. Diagnoses depend on a competent physician who does a proper history and physical exam and uses tests and x-rays and others to arrive at a diagnosis. Don`t over depend on tests. ...Read more

Tested negative for ankylosing spondylitis by PCR blood test. Apparently PCR is the most sensitive test. Does this mean i definitely don't have as?
No blood test for AS: If you are referring to the hla-b27, this is not a diagnostic test. You can still have as but it is less likely. This is a conversation for your doctor, however. ...Read more

Inflammation: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. I received an ANA titer postive test with speckled & homogeneous pattern on it my RA factor 7, now I am being referred to rheumologist. Is this lupus?
If blood test by PCR was negative for hla b27, does this mean i definitely don't have it? (one other blood test was positive; not sure of the type).
After being diagnosed with avn, which is caused due to hip dislocation, blood tests shows CRP value 0.94, rf is negative, ANA not done. Is it normal ?
I am detected with ankolysis spodylites but hla b 27 is showing negative what could be the cause?
Non specific: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, ESR is not specific for any disease or disorder. A value of 39 is that high for a 59 year old male. If he does not have any symptoms, if may not be worthwhile to chase a laboratory value. ...Read more
Autoimmune disease: A positive ANA test indicates that your immune system has launched a misdirected attack on your own tissue — in other words, an autoimmune reaction. This may indicate lupus, rheumatoid arthritis or scleroderma. Some people have positive ANA tests even when they're healthy, so further confirmatory tests are needed. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My daughter's test result, rubella lgg shows positive (>200)
what does it mean ? Is there anything alarming ?
No: Igg is for long term immunity, she is immune, her vaccine has worked. I guess it's possible she was recently infected, about 4 weeks ago, and is still fighting it off but that is low probability. She is rubella immune, the titers, since i don't have a lab sheet in front of me, generally say immune over a certain threshold, so talk to her doc but if they weren't alarmed i don't think you should b. ...Read more
