No; rare cancer: Cystosarcoma phyllodes is a cancerous variant of a tumor that is uncommon but usually benign (phyllodes tumors). They can be confused with fibroadenomas, BENIGN common tumors. Tissue-Diagnosis: Fibroadenomas are the most common breast tumors. Even the best of us can be fooled by exam or even ultrasound findings--biopsy is the best way to DX definitively. These do not need to be surgically removed although many women prefer to if they are large, palpable, and/or growing. Depends: Fibrocystic disease of the breast (fcb) is annoying but not dangerous. It makes screening examination of the breast & mammography more difficult. Ultrasound & needle biopsy is needed at times to be sure it is just fcb. There are reports from britain that going without a bra helps this quite a bit. Lump found in rt. Breast at 5:30 position on 3/2012. Biopsy said fibroadenoma. Next us found lump at 7:30. Biopsy says fibroadenoma. Same lump?
Possibly: This is hard to answer without knowing more information. Was the first one completely exised or just biopsied? The breast radiologist should be able to answer your question.
