Slightly abnormal: Fatty liver is a sonographic/radiologic finding and is graded mild, moderate, or severe etc.. Each liver has some fatty infitration, but above certain level then it is termed fatty liver--the most common liver disease in us today (obesity epidemic). Alcohol use combined with poor diet, obesity, abnormally high iron levels and hepatitis c can increase the chances of getting fatty liver. There are also people who have fatty livers who don’t have an illness and who don’t drink. Some people can develop a fatty liver off drinking really heavily for a weekend, and the fat decreases when they stop drinking.
