Test and reassure: Hi. Empty sella syndrome is most often associated with normal pituitary function. You should see an endocrinologist to be tested for pituitary hormone insufficiency (and/or elevated prolactin due to pituitary stalk effects). Empty sella may be associated with increased intracranial pressure, and the "empty sella" is due to CSF pushing into the sella from above. Usually not a problem. ...Read more

Probably normal: An empty sella refers to the case when, typically on mri, not is made that the sella turcica is filled with cerebrospinal fluid and the pituitary gland is not seen.
