See your Dentist: More likely than not your ear ache is being caused by your Temporomandibular Joint, not the way you have described. TMD or Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction can mimic earache. Unrelated: The 2 symptoms are not related. If you have an ear infection or inflammation the discomfort would most likely be steady. TMJ vs other problem: Might be TMJ but your symptoms are vague enough that I think an evaluation by a ENT doc is warranted. If negative, see TMJ specialist. Possible flu/uri: Possible upper respiratory infection by virus, but with the season, need to rule out flu. If you have fever, body/head ache, see a doctor to rule ot flu. Otherwise lots of fluids to drink (esp with electrolytes) and a humidifier at home shout help you. ?Infection or not: Ear ache is not the same thing as ear infection. If you have a referred pain, such as from the throat or more commonly the TMJ (jaw joint), antibiotics aren't the treatment and won't help. I assume your doctor could see you had an infection?
