?Infection or not: Ear ache is not the same thing as ear infection. If you have a referred pain, such as from the throat or more commonly the TMJ (jaw joint), antibiotics aren't the treatment and won't help. I assume your doctor could see you had an infection? If they couldn't get a view of your eardrum and presumptively are treating an ear infection that is a problem. Consider seeing an ENT for assessment. ...Read more
