PMDD vs pregnancy: Pmdd has cyclical pattern with your period... Pregancy--you may have some morning sickness, or none. You may have a light period in the first month or two, then none until after birth. When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
I usually get really bad pmdd 15 days before my period until my pd starts, & none this cycle. Can a lack of PMS be an indication of possible pregnancy?
Not a lot.: Pms refers to the physical symptoms which can occur monthly in relation to the menstrual cycle. Pmdd refers to the emotional symptoms that occur. Since the mind and body are related, it is rare to have one without at least some of the other.
PMS vs PMDD: Pms is a cluster of psychological, behavioral and somatic symptoms in the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. These include anxiety, depression, irritability, rejection sensitivity, bloating, breast tenderness, and weight gain. Pmdd is a more severe form of this, interfering with work, social activities, and relationships. Http://www. Womensmentalhealth. Org/specialty-clinics/pms-and-pmdd/.
What are the key differences between PMDD and BP II? Mood swings align with my cycle but was diagnosed BP II from oral history, no other test done..
Close relationship: If your symptoms precede your periods on regular basis it is more likely pmdd. If there is a family history of bipolar or depression, Bipolar would be more likely. Overlap can exist and you will require very close follow up by seeing your psychiatrist regularly. Do not forget to exclude medical conditions by seeing your general practitioner.

That is a: Possibility. At some point a trial can be done, tapering off medication to see if the sxs reappear.

I have severe pmdd, having a total hysterectomy in 2 days. Ovaries are staying...Will my symptoms be lessened at least? Please help
PMDD: Pmdd is a condition where a woman has severe depression symptoms, irritability, and tension in the 5-10 days before menstruation. The symptoms of pmdd are more severe and debilitating than in premenstrual syndrome (pms). They usually remit when menstruation begins. Mood swings; panic attacks; trouble sleeping; feeling out of control; and several other symptoms all can be seen in pmdd.
PMDD: Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (pmdd) is a more severe form of premenstrual disorder (pms). Pms can have both physical ; emotional symptoms, but pmdd's mood shifts are extreme ; can be disruptive to relationships, school, work, etc. Both syndromes have bloating, breast tenderness, fatigue, and changes in sleep and eating habits. Pmdd adds more irritability, sadness/hopelessness, moodiness, etc.
If I am on continuous birth control for severe pmdd would I still need to take a ssri to eliminate symptoms?
Maybe not: If you were my patient I would try you on continuous without the ssri, then add the ssri if needed. If you are already on the ssri, I wouldn't necessarily take it away just because starting continuous. You're doctor knows you best so I would take his/her advice.
Is Evening Primrose Oil effective in treating symptoms of PMDD? Does it alter GLA? Also, should it be taken every day, or only 2nd half of cycle?
No, Yes, Daily: Evening Primrose Oil is an excellent source of GLA so it raises it. It appears to help with breast pain associated with PMS but has not been shown to help PMDD. See http://www. Medscape. Com/viewarticle/406683_2 For info on treating PMDD see http://www. Goodtherapy. Org/blog/natural-remedies-pms-pmdd-0419124/
YES!: Pmdd (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) is a depressive-like illness commonly brought on by the hormonal changes from the ovaries just before a period. These same hormone changes alter gut movement, and can cause bloating, belching, heartburn, and fullness. These can also be the signs of gallbladder disease, ulcers, or other GI problems. See your doctor if they persist beyond premenstual time.
