What is chronic pyelonephritis and what is focal area scarring in the lower pole of the left kidney?
Chronic Pyelo: Chronic pyelonephritis is the result of any process in the kidney that causes prolonged inflammation and fibrosis (scarring). Common causes include: persistent or recurrent renal infections, vesicoureteral reflux (urine going backwards into the kidney), or urinary tract obstruction. A board certified urologist or nephrologist are the best doctors to review these types of findings. ...Read more
Deoxygenated blood enters the lungs from the right side of the heart and travels to the lungs. When you inspire, oxygen flows into the lungs, transverses the capilliares and attaches to hemoglobin down a gradient. At the same time, co2 diffuses into the capilaries and is expelled with exhalation. Oxygen rich blood then flows to the left side of the heart and into the ...Read more
My CT showed groundglass densities in the anterior and posterior of the basal segment of the lower right lung. Could this be from a partial collapsed that I had in 1994?
Yes: Although it was 20 years ago, it is possible to have areas of lung that are not fully aerated on a chronic type basis. Often called atelectasis. This could be what is described by "groundglass density" The best way to tell is with direct comparison of the old CT scan to a new one. It is also possible that this area represents a more recent area of pneumonia. See if a comparison can be done. ...Read more
I have a 5.2cm bullae in upper right lung. Keep getting mild pain in lower right ribs, could this be due to the pressure in the lung.
What is a dense 8mm left lower nodule of the lung? Dense nodular opacity in the left lower lobe is likely a calcified granuloma. What does that mean to me?
What does suspicious densities is seen in the right upper lobe and left mid lung means? Is it seious or not? Pls answer.
I assume: you are referring to a chest xray? "Suspicous densities" is not very specific, but it sounds like you have abnormal findings(e.g. mass, nodule, infiltrate, scarring) that might require further evaluation with a CT scan or other tests. Talk to your doc about what the results mean. No way to tell based on limited info how serious it might be. Take care. ...Read more

In my usg the impression says: echogenic focus in the mid cortal area of left kidney. The kidney measures108.4*53.0mm. What does this mean ?
Nonspecific: The kidney measurement is relatively normal and is essentially just given for reference. The echogenic focus is somewhat nonspecific and could be many things (angiomyolipoma is one that quickly comes to mind). Without seeing the images or knowing if you've had other imaging, it's hard to give much more information. ...Read more
My X-ray shows a thickened pleura in the mid-lower area of my right lung due to ptb. Does it cause pain due to pressure on the lung during exertion?
Pleural thickening: Most of the time does not cause pain, although there are patients who complain of it. We can't predict who do. It may be that it can limit the expansion of your lung but the extent again is individualized. ...Read more

What would most likely be the cause of pain that wraps around from the low left back to the mid left section of the abdomen?
Hard to know...: It could be a sign of a kidney issue (like infection) to a musculoskeletal cause (muscle). If it is bothersome and persistent or accompanied by other symptoms, it would be worthwhile for a health care provider to do a medical history and physical exam.
