When is low blood pressure considered dangerous?

When is low blood pressure considered dangerous?

Causes fainting: When your blood pressure is too low, you do not get enough oxygen to your brain and people feel lightheaded, dizzy or like they are going to faint. That is dangerous, but the most common cause of low blood pressure is not enough fluids or dehydration. If you are still having low blood pressure and feeling dizzy after drinking at least 64 oz per day, then you should see your doctor.

Hypotension (Definition)

Is low blood pressure dangerous?

Is low blood pressure dangerous?

Depends: Low blood pressure is only dangerous if it is impairing adequate oxygen delivery to meet the needs of vital organs of the body, or if it signifies an underlying process that is dangerous if it worsens (e.g. Diffuse bacterial infection, or toxin poisoning). The actual number, in and of itself, is not dangerous if all organs remain working fine.

When is low blood pressure dangerous?

When is low blood pressure dangerous?

Depends: BP varies from person to person and even hour to hour. However if it drops too rapidly, it signals something being wrong with your cardiovascular system. When the pressure drops rapidly or gets low enough, there may not be enough blood going into the organs especially the brain. The end result may be fainting, shock, and even death.

Is low blood pressure dangerous to have?

Is low blood pressure dangerous to have?

It is relative: The most important factor to label somebody has low blood pressure is to know his baseline. If somebody is having blood pressure of say 80/50 mmhg for years and does not have any symptom at all. This should not be considered necessarily a bad idea. On the other hand if a person who had blood pressure of 140 /90 came to you with blood pressure of 80/60, it should be cause for conmen.

I am experiencing low blood pressure (hypotension). I'm 23 yr old male. Bp is 90/52 is this dangerous. Just very tired.?

Depends: Low blood pressure and whether it will affect you depends on your body habitus, nutritional status, medications, how fit you are, etc. If you have symptoms of headaches, dizziness, fatigue then discuss this with your doctor. Get blood tests and a physical exam. That blood pressure in your age is not necessarily dangerous if you're asymptomatic. There are several reasons for being tired too.

Well: If you are dizzy it is not ok. You need to start by drinking more water and at your age prolly need more salt. Add a little more to your meals and hydrate more care if that helps. If symptoms persist. See a doctor

What is considered low blood pressure?

Just a number: Well 120/80 has been considered average. Under 100 is getting low. But what is more important is how do you feel. If you feel well, I would not worry about a low blood pressure. Actually people with a low blood pressure live longer. I have seen patients with a pressure of 80/60 who feel quite well.
