What Is Considered A Fever For A 1 Year Old
100.4 F = 38 C: Check out http://www. Aafp. Org/afp/2007/0615/p1805.Html. We tolerate higher temperatures in older children who don't appear "toxic". But younger children bear more involved evaluation since their immune systems aren't mature & they haven't received complete set of vaccinations. However, even healthy appearing children w/102.2 f = 39 c need further evaluation. Btw these temperatures are rectal.See 1 more doctor answer

After I gave birth to my second child, every one or two months I will have a fever. Is this normal? My second child now is 1 year old.
My one year old has had a fever of 40.1 celcius (100.4 farenheit) for an hour. Should we take him to the emergency?
Fever: Sn er visit is not necesary. First you want to make your baby as comfortable as possible. Make sure the baby is well hydrated, and if the fever surpasses 101f, you can give a dose of infant acetaminophen. If you are unable to control the fever this way, I recommend consulting with your doctor.
My baby one year old. She have full cold & cough little bit fever also. What medication is safe to give?
URI: Take her in the washroom and let her inhale the steam of a hot shower. At night let her sleep with a vaporizer. Raise her mattress so she is sleeping on an angle. Use salt water nose drops at least four times a day. Rub vaporub on her chest at night. I would not use juice because the sugars may cause diarrhea to add to her discomfort.See 1 more doctor answer

My one year old has thrown up once a week for four weeks. She has no fever or other symptoms. I eliminated dairy and it didn't help. What can it be?
Do not Worry: Kids often throw up when they do not like something or do not want to eat. This sounds behavioral to me. But throwing up once a week, I would not do much of anything except clean up.See 1 more doctor answer
Fever in Children: Please learn the following by heart. A fever in a child is nothing to just tolerate. It is imperative to find the reason for the fever; it is imperative to treat the cause of the fever; it is imperative to keep the child hydrated and to keep the fever down with children's Motrin or tylenol (acetaminophen). But finding the reason for the fever is paramount.
Fever not the issue: A trip to the hospital, should be done in consultation with your physicians office.Fever is a sign of beneficial natural response to illness, not the enemy. Any 1yo may run 103-105 in response to simple illness, but the temp is less important than other kid signs. Lethargy, refusal of fluids, inactivity are more worrisome. The kid with 103 that smiles, feeds & plays is less so. Call the service first.See 1 more doctor answer
If my one year old has a fever from a virus....What do I do....What kind of medicine do she need?
Keep her comfortable: The most important thing to know about fevers is that they are rarely harmful. They can cause a lot of discomfort though. Our bodies create fevers to inhibit reproduction of viruses and bacteria. Fever also makes our muscles ache and we alternate feeling cold or hot. Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can help reduce fever but may not get rid of the fever. An ice pack on the neck can also help.See 1 more doctor answer

My one year old son has a fever of 102. This is his second day and it hasn't gone down. It dropped a little after cool baths. Fever reducer is not working. What should I do?
Fever not enemy!: First, fever does not need 'to be treated'. It is a symptom, not a disease. Push lots of fluid so child doesn't dehydrate. If very uncomfortable, then can give something to bring fever down, but don't rush to do that if child acitng fine. Higher body temperature helps fight illness - infection fighting cells work better at higher body temps, and germs don't like higher body temps and die - yeah!See 2 more doctor answers
My one year old has a cold and has had RSV in his last but he has had a fever for two weeks now ranging from 100-101what should I do?
I have a one year old who has a red nose and a fever of 100.7. She has had 4 wet diapers since noon. Is she sick?
Probably: Any kid running a fever at that age is likely dealing with an illness. The type and importance of the illness is best gauged by the effect it has on her daily activities. If she is staying with her normal pattern it is likely minor and will self heal. If she becomes needy, quits playing or decreases her feeds or fluids, it it time to consider an evaluation.
My two year old has a fever ranged from 103-101 Advil drops the fever and he has no other symptoms. He does have two bug bites on his back that showed up this morning. My one year old does not have a fever and my two year old acts just fine he has been eat
He should be fine!: Mosquito borne disease usually has an incubation period a bit longer than you mentioned. He is also doing well overall without painful and/or swollen joints; sore muscles/aching tendons; extensive skin rashes; tiredness;headaches and swollen lymph nodes. Put 1% Hydrocortisone cream on the bug bites or apply cool compresses. Oral antihistamine like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) 2.5ml could be offerred at night.
