What is peri-colace (docusate sodium) used for. Any differences between it & regular capsules colace (docusate sodium). Which one is better for anal fissure and internal hemorrhoid.?
Slight difference: Colace (docusate sodium) is a stool softener. Pericolace is a stool softener plus a laxative. Treatment for anal fissure and internal hemorrhoid is to keep the stools formed and soft. Drink plenty of water and get plenty of fiber in your diet. Not the best.: Instead of using Colace (docusate sodium) a long term, a better approach would be to increase the amount of fiber in your diet and consider a fiber supplement, such as Metamucil, daily. Colace (docusate sodium) is sometimes used on a daily basis for patients with a tendency to constipation and it takes longer for its effect.
