What is peri-colace used for. Any differences between it & regular capsules colace. Which one is better for anal fissure and internal hemorrhoid.?
Slight difference: Colace is a stool softener. Pericolace is a stool softener plus a laxative. Treatment for anal fissure and internal hemorrhoid is to keep the stools formed and soft. Drink plenty of water and get plenty of fiber in your diet. Colace is probably better especially when combined with a high fiber diet. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Had a fecal impaction in january now it's cleared but i keep getting constipated. Used miralax for the impaction now relying on colace for reg bm.
More Fiber...: Make sure you are eating 30-40 grams of fiber per day to optimize transit through your GI tract. If still constipated despite a healthy high fiber diet and active lifestyle, then start adding stool softners (e.g. Colace), daily or every other day dose of gentle laxative (e.g. Miralax). You should try and have a bm at least once every 3 days. Consider seeing a gastroenterologist. ...Read more

Can 80 grams of sugar alcohol in the form of sugar-free candy harm the fetus? It's the only thing that helps me "go" lately. Tried everything else.I'm also on colace & miralax, but my body got used it
Try something else: Most are approved with pregnancy but not really recommended. If your issue is constipation, there are lots of other options. Colace is just a stool softener. Try fiber. Miralax can be take multiple times a day (it's very safe). Consider senna (available otc) or magnesium citrate (my favorite as its strong). Also you can try an enema. Most are okay to use together. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Not the best.: Instead of using Colace a long term, a better approach would be to increase the amount of fiber in your diet and consider a fiber supplement, such as Metamucil, daily. When you do that, you should ramp up the fiber slowly, to avoid getting gassy, and you should increase the amount of fluid intake in addition. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
How do you increase BM frequency? I have a BM maybe twice a week with colace. How do I make sure I am more regular?
Several things: Make sure that you have reasonable intake of fiber which means a diet that includes roughage like in the case of green leafy vegetables. You also want to make sure you stay well hydrated. Additionally you want to remain active, as activity does stimulate normal gastrointestinal motility. This is a reasonable place to start. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
