Unlikely to be tumor: Nothing is impossible but this would not be the first sign of a brain tumor. However, I would be concerned about possible dehydration and electroyte imbalances and adequate fluid intake. Please contact your pediatrician as intravenous fluids may be advised.

Can a child travel by air when they have symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea?

Can a child travel by air when they have symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea?

Technically, yes: It is possible although I would not advise it. It will be very unpleasant for you and anyone who has the misfortune to be seated near you. In possible, wait until the child is better.

My child is vomiting randomly but has no other symptoms and is fine other than that, running around. Playing, ect.?

My child is vomiting randomly but has no other symptoms and is fine other than that, running around. Playing, ect.?

Usually OK: Not too infrequently, we encounter children who vomit randomly. As long as child thrives, vomiting not associated with abdominal pain, diarrhea or respiratory symptoms, e.g., wheezing/cough, work-up results in low yield.

Viral infection?: Have him checked by his pediatrician--how old is he? With all these symptoms make sure he is well hydrated and does not have a secondary bacterial infection.

See a doctor: Problems like this can be quite complex--you should take your child to a pediatrician. The er is a great place for emergencies, but this is a more complicated problem and needs the attention and care of your pediatrician.

If my baby seems to have the symptoms of ger- pain with spit up and/or vomit, arching back, should she take zantac (ranitidine)?

If my baby seems to have the symptoms of ger- pain with spit up and/or vomit, arching back, should she take zantac (ranitidine)?

All babies reflux: To get a burp out of a baby you are getting air to reflux from the stomach. All babies also spit up. When the baby seem to have constant irritability & spitting I often try some antacid medicine to see if it helps. Zantac (ranitidine) is one of several that can be used this way.

My 2month old baby does not vomit but she sneeze, hiccup and cough is this a sign of silent reflux?

My 2month old baby does not vomit but she sneeze, hiccup and cough is this a sign of silent reflux?

Could be reflux: Hiccups are common in 2 month old baby. Coughing is not normal. Let his pediatrician evaluate him for reflux and advise medications if needed. Feeding small amounts of milk in frequent intervals may help reflux. Also keeping baby upright and not laying him down immediately after feeds may help reflux.

Vomiting: Vomiting in this age group can have a huge range of causes: - infections - stomach flu or even strep throat - gastrointestinal - acid reflux, gastritis, pancreatitis - this list is endless! - central nervous system diseases - lung disease - renal (kidney) disease - endocrine or metabolic diseases - drugs (such as overdose or side effects) - psychiatric disorders because of this huge list of possibilities, you should call you child's doctor and set up an appointment for an examination. By getting the details and taking a peek at her, her doctor will be able to narrow down the list of causes. Reasons to call your child's doctor immediately or go to the er would be: -vomiting for more than 24 hours -diarrhea for more than 7 days -bright green or bloody vomit -bloody or black diarrhea -new fever -dehydration (no urination in 8 hours, dry mouth, no tears, dry or doughy skin).

Are diarrhea and vomiting symptoms of malabsorption? If so, how much will the symptoms last? I believe that my baby doesn't tolerate oatmeal...

Diarrhea: Malabsorption is usually diarrhea. Malabsorption usually means poor weight gain and sick infants. If this is so please go see your pediatrician or GI specialist. If otherwise growing the V&D could be formula intolerance to milk or perhaps soy. Try an elemental formula like nutramagen or alimentum. If you think oatmeal then stop and start it later to see if change helps. See your dr too

Don't worry: It is ok if you did not have any vomiting and it happens to lot of pregnant mothers. Just get your regular prenatal checks and all will be well.

I'm 17 weeks pregnant, always worried if the baby is ok. I haven't vomited in2 weeks, my breast aren't tender. Pregnancy symptoms gone is this normal?

Pregnancy Symptoms: This can be completely normal. Everyone has a completely different course during their pregnancy. Sometimes typical symptoms can become worse or improve. As long as you are following regularly with your OB and everything is good with your testing, I would not stress out over these symptoms specifically.
