What Is Causing My Hip Pain
Had an MRI on my hip that showed a laberal tear but the orthopedic doesn't seem to think that is what is causing my hip pain, and now wants an MRI of my back...Why?
Hard to say: While the labral tear may be causing some pain in your hip, your md must think something else is going on he probably wants an MRI to see if you have a herniated disc which may be causing some radicular symptoms down the leg which includes the hip area obviously you don't want to have an arthroscopic procedure on your hip and then find out the pain was coming from a disc in your back. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I am having extream hip pain . I am only 16 and resently I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis. What could be causing my hip pain?
Unlikely: Your are kind of young for hip pain related to osteoporosis. I would be more concerned about avascular necrosis of the hip which typically effects young people and athletes. Get evaluated by doc: After reaching our maximal growth, we all are subjected to aging/deteriation, some a bit faster than others. Occasional ache/pain occurs in everyone at some point, but persistent pain should be evaluated. It is possible you may have sprain/strains, bursitis, degenerative joint disease etc...I would consult doc for an evaluation. In the meantime, motrin/aleve may help with pain. Good luck. ...Read more
Hip bursitis: It is likely that you have a condition called trochanteric bursitis of your hip--it is inflammation of the area surrounding the curve of the hip-thigh bone. Possibly resulted from excessive use/walking/running and/or laying on the side on a firm/hard surface too long. Hip arthritis and disc disease can cause hip pain as well. Motrin/aleve may help. If not better, consult doc for eval. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
