Possibly: followup w/your surgeon As a general rule for my patients I say that 80% of swelling is gone after 2 weeks & 90% is gone after 2 months, but really more like 6 weeks. That being said-a bump on the bridge of the nose should not be from septal surgery. By 8 weeks, swelling should be settling nicely, but generally it can take up to 12 weeks to really evaluate any residual deformity. Be patient and see your surgeon again. Follow up: It is very likely to have soft tissue and bony swelling for weeks after surgery distorting the normal anatomy. You should ideally discuss this concern with your ENT Surgeon who performed the procedure to see if this is a normal variant and part of your recovery process. ...Read more

Nasonex (mometasone): You must aim the nasal spray away from the nasal bone, or septum and towards the sides of the nose, this will treat your symptoms better and ease the nasal irritation you are experiencing. You also should use a saline nasal spray for 2-3 days if you start having nose bleeds then resume nasonex (mometasone). If it continues, tell your doctor about your side effects. ...Read more
