If there is no mention of a renal mass, hydronephrosis, or other pathology, it likely refers to the size, shape, or contour of your kidney and probably just represents a normal anatomical variation of no clinical significance. Ask your md for clarification. ...Read more

Results from my scan says everything is working fine. A bulky left kidney but they don't think it's clinically significant. What does this mean?
Not sure: We don't normally describe the kidneys as "bulky" or not bulky. It could simply mean that one kidney is larger than the other in which case in and of itself is clinically insignificant or if one kidney is "bulky" in a part of it then that raises the possibility of a tumor or if the calyceal system is enlarged then there maybe obstruction. It's hard to offer more insight without more specifics about why you were told your blood is thick. Male, 31years, diagnosed w/ 0.7cm kidney parenchima mass, little fat in ct. If malig, what are the chances of it already spread?
Only 50% of masses with a diameter smaller than 1 cm are malignant. Despite the localized, nonaggressive behavior of most small renal tumors, up to 5% of patients with masses 4 cm or smaller present with metastatic disease so we would expect the risk for your 7 mm mass to be much lower. Don't ignore it, get treated, good luck. Check out:
