What Is Better For Folic Acid Folinext D Or Folvite
Folate (folic acid) because...: Folic acid is a synthetic chemical. It is better absorbed than folate (folic acid) in foods but our bodies need to convert it to l-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (folic acid) (l-5-mthf), the active form. About 30% of people have genetic problems converting Folic Acid to l-5-mthf so unless you know you don't have that problem (which can be discovered with a blood test) it is safest to take the l-5-mthf form. ...Read more

While taking a prenatal vitamin is folate (in whole food vitamins) and folic acid (synthetic vitamins) the same? Or is one better than the other?
The same!: Folate is another name for folic acid, and for prevention of birth defects, or for any other purpose, there is absolutely no difference in effectiveness between Folic Acid that has been made in the lab and Folic Acid from a natural product. You should definitely take a prenatal vitamin that contains one or the other, but the manufacturing process is up to you! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
You say potato...: Yes, perhaps you've heard the song. Folate (folic acid) and Folic acid are synonyms, meaning they are two words for the exact same thing. Folate (folic acid) is the term used by chemists by convention, Folic acid is a more non specific term but the chemical is identical. Either way, it's all good. ...Read more
Yes.: When supplementing, it is wise to use a multi-vitamin/mineral as well. This is because taking one item, at the exclusion of others, can create a deficiency. For example, when using B12 one should take it along with b-complex so as not to correct one problem but then create another problem somewhere else. Another option is to use an adaptogen or adaptogen complex to correct or prevent deficiencies. ...Read more
Is ok if I am taking a prenatal vitamins that has 800mcg of folic acid, and take another folic acid vitamin thar has 400mcg???
Its fine: Up to about 1000mcg or 1 mg is perfectly fine and this is just 1200 mcg. However, in the 400mcg pill you said folic acid vitamin. I am assuming you mean just a folic acid supplement and not a multivitamin. You can get too much of things like vitamin A, so just be aware of that. ...Read more

Many possibilities : Methotrexate was originally developed as a chemotherapy agent for a variety of cancers but is now more commonly used to treat autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis & psoriasis. Hi..im 28 weeks pregnant. Is it safe to take 1,000mg of vitaminc and 400iu vitamin E daily?together with a prenatal vitamin.
Vitamin Supplements: The prenatal vitamin contains every vitamin and mineral supplement that you and your baby should need. I would not recommend adding additional vitamin supplements without first checking with your OB provider. I have seen patients develop kidney stones on 1 gram daily doses of vitamin C. Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin that can accumulate and affect blood clotting. Please check with your OB. ...Read more
