Is it okay to let a 100.7 degree fever run its course w/o taking meds in early pregnancy (7.5wks)? If fever rises, at what temp should I take Tylenol (acetaminophen)?

Is it okay to let a 100.7 degree fever run its course w/o taking meds in early pregnancy (7.5wks)? If fever rises, at what temp should I take Tylenol (acetaminophen)?

Tylenol (acetaminophen) IsPrettySafe: It depends on how you feel.If you can eat and drink normally and feel fairly well, then a temperature of 101-102 will be tolerated fairly well.Over 102 I'd take something even if I felt OK.It also depends on what may be causing the fever, no matter how high. If it's a minor "viral" illness like a cold, no problem, but if you have some other serious medical problem then even 100.7 could be worrisome ...Read more

I had Ovidrel shot on 1/1/16. My BBT is now very high. Does this indicate a pregnancy or is it the ovidrel causing my temp to rise?

I had Ovidrel shot on 1/1/16. My BBT is now very high. Does this indicate a pregnancy or is it the ovidrel causing my temp to rise?

Hard to determine: Neither pregnancy nor Ovidrel should be causing a very high fever. If you have a high fever then you should be evaluated by your doctor for infection. Ovulation can cause a very brief and very mild temperature spike. It should not be high. If you think you might be pregnant check then check a home pregnancy test. They are cheap, reliable and available at any pharmacy. ...Read more

Temperature : Temperature (increase or decrease) as an independent variable is not an indicator of pregnancy. More importantly a missed period is more reliable. If your period is late by at least a week you should take a pregnancy test, otherwise you can take an early prediction pregnancy test one week before your period is due. Good luck. ...Read more

Not a fever: You don't have a fever, so I wouldn't be too concerned. A fever is a temp of 100.5 or above. The temps you have could just be elevated body temp. ...Read more

I have been having symptoms of pregnancy, my temp rose from my normal temp (98.4) to 99.3. Is that a pregnancy or period symptom?

Can't tell from temp: Daily temperature tends to fluctuate a degree or more for most people, so that is not specific enough to diagnose pregnancy or menses, Other symptoms of pregnancy like nausea and breast fullness tend to come after the first missed period, at which time you can take a pregnancy test. ...Read more

In the last few days my already light positive pregnancy test are getting even lighter now my temp dropped dramaticly what's going on?

Talk to your gyn: It sounds like you're having some stress about a possible pregnancy. There are no gradations of pregnancy tests. They are either positive or negative. Your temperature is not predictive of pregnancy, but can be used to predict ovulation mid-cycle. If you are over 30 days from your last period and your preg test is positive, you are pregnant. ...Read more

I am 16w1d pregnant & have been tracking my basal body temp for almost a year, even after my pregnancy was confirmed. When can I stop taking it?

I am 16w1d pregnant & have been tracking my basal body temp for almost a year, even after my pregnancy was confirmed. When can I stop taking
 it?

Now!: Congratulations! The main reason to track it is to see when you are ovulating to time intercourse to become (or avoid) pregnancy. Now that you are pregnant there is no longer a need to track it. By the way, I highly recommend Ina May's Guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin: http://inamay.com/books/ ...Read more

42 days without a period, higher than normal basal body temps, other pregnancy like symptoms, but 4 negative tests. Could i still be pregnant?

Very unlikely: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate, so with 4 negative tests, it is hard to imagine that you are pregnant. If skip more than this cycle, you should see an obgyn for an evaluation to make sure their isn't another cause of your sudden change in cycle pattern. ...Read more

Can implantation happen the day before a temp dip? Cramping and pink spotting yesterday and low temp today. Is pregnancy still possible?

Implantation: Implantation bleeding is not really as common as the internet would have you believe. When it does happen it's usually 6-12 days after ovulation. A pregnancy test 7-10 days after unprotected intercourse is much more helpful. Implantation bleeding occurs exclusively in pregnant women. ...Read more

TTC using opk's, bbt, freq sex. Pos opk 7 days ago but no temp rise. Does this mean no ovulation or pregnancy? Can pregnancy occur w/o bbt rise?

BBT challenging: The use of basal body temperature is highly inaccurate and not typically recommended in someone using a home ovulation kit. If your ovulation kit indicated ovulation then measuring BBT is not going to be helpful. A day 21 Progesterone test can be done to confirm ovulation occurred if you have doubt. ...Read more

Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
