Would running on a treadmill increase my speed for running?

Would running on a treadmill increase my speed for running?

Not for sprinting: It would certainly increase your endurance. But I would not recommend sprinting on a treadmill. It's too easy to misstep and fall hard. In cold weather, sprinting in a gymnasium would be preferable. A coach or fitness trainer may be able to show you some mechanical aspects of sprinting that could help you with speed. ...Read more

I am running daily 27 minutes on treadmill @ speed of 5.5 km per hr. Will it be helpfull for me?

Yes.: That sounds like it should be fine. Check your heart rate during exercise - your should be about 160 for maximal cardiovascular benefit. If it's higher than that, but not higher than 180, then great. If it's lower than that, you may need to up your pace a bit. Any cardiovascular exercise will be beneficial for weight maintenance and health. ...Read more

I want a flat butt and slimmer thighs. Can it be possible only with flat treadmill running? I don't want to do squats and lunges.

I want a flat butt and slimmer thighs. Can it be possible only with flat treadmill running? I don't want to do squats and lunges.

My guess is you will: Need to do something more than "flat treadmill running" but can probably meet your goals without squats and lunges. Jumping rope or stair climbing would probably be good. Various websites I consulted showed workouts that included other exercises beside squats and lunges (what's wrong with those??). I would consult a recommended personal trainer. Good wishes:) ...Read more

I run the treadmill with a 8% incline, while maintaining average speed of 4.5 for 30 minutes for the last 2yrs. Would that be reason for low pulse?

YES: Regular aggressive aerobic exercise will slow your heart rate to less than 60 bpm. Normal rate is 60-100 bpm; however, exercising the way you - 40-60 beats/min. Would vbe considered normal and quite athletic as long as you have not symptoms of weakness or dizziness. ...Read more

30min running on treadmill & 1hr full body, medium-high intensity workout at the gym 4x a week. On average how long until I start to look more toned?

30min running on treadmill & 1hr full body, medium-high intensity workout at the gym 4x a week. On average how long until I start to look more toned?

Depends: Being "tone" is dependent on multiple factors including your body fat percentage/lean muscle mass percentage as well as genetics. Some individuals are genetically inclined to have those "6-pack" abs, while others can strengthen their abs forever and be thin, but never get that 6-pack appearance. I would think though within one month that you would notice a change in your physical appearance. ...Read more

Which type of walking reduce body fat fast? Slow walking to 1hr or speed walking to1/2hr (eg; 3.0 speed at treadmill to 1hr or 5.4 speed to 1/2hr)

Which type of walking reduce body fat fast? Slow walking to 1hr or speed walking to1/2hr (eg; 3.0 speed at treadmill to 1hr or 5.4 speed to 1/2hr)

Weight loss: It is not about the type of walking but rather the calories burned. Using your example you will have walked 3 miles in one hour slow walking and 2.7 miles in a 1/2 hour fast walking. Because you went farther slow walking you would have burned more calories and therefore, lost more weight from the longer walk. ...Read more

A treadmill workout of no inclination, 6kmh speed for 1hour 4 times a week is enough as a start for a 19 years old female 1.64m tall with weight 77 km?

A treadmill workout of no inclination, 6kmh speed for 1hour 4 times a week is enough as a start for a 19 years old female 1.64m tall with weight 77 km?

Good start: Walking an hour a day on a treadmill is a good way to start exercising but will probably get boring very quickly. Instead, once you're comfortable walking, consider shortening your treadmill time to just 30min while alternating fast sprints w/slow recovery speeds. Use remaining 30min to work on muscle strength, flexibility & balance. High intensity interval training is key buzzword now. Good luck! ...Read more

How many calories am I burning on the treadmill? Speed is 4.5, distance is 2 miles, incline is 3.5. I'm 26 and 5' 2", 116 lbs

How many calories am I burning on the treadmill? Speed is 4.5, distance is 2 miles, incline is 3.5. I'm 26 and 5' 2", 116 lbs

Treadmill: The best way to know how much you are burning is to turn on the calorie burning mode on the treadmill. Unfortunately, your heart rate is a variable and at any given moment you lose an x amount of calories but it's dependent on your heart rate, so it's impossible to tell how much you will lose without having the calorie burning mode on which is part of most newer treadmills. ...Read more

Yes but be sure 2--: -watch your diet. You will loose weight on such a program but also you will build up muscle mass which is heavier than fat. The pounds will drop slowly, just don't increase your dietary intake & don't get discouraged. 2 years is a good goal 4 60#s. I have early osteoarthritis. My house is on 2nd floor. What precautions to b taken while climbing. Can I do treadmill at d speed of 5-6 with no incline.

Varies: The activity level that a person with osteoarthritis can maintain is based in part on the severity of the condition and their particular symptoms. In general, patients with arthritis want to stay as active as possible at a level that does not aggravate their symptoms; determining that level sometimes is a little of " trial and error." ...Read more

I walked for 7 min on my treadmill at 2.4 speed. Slow and my heart rate was 160 and I felt like it works to hard for so little. Why can this be?

Maximum heart rate: The maximum heart rate response to exercise can be predicted using the 220 - age in years. For you at age 24 the maximum rate should be 196. Spasms: Please see your doc to rule out medical conditions. It is likely the speed or angle of the treadmill if it only happens there. In general, low magnesium can cause muscle spasms however. Chest wall pain: Exercise puts stress on more things then just the heart. Rapid change in exercise level doesn't give your tissue a chance to adapt. Thai is why athletes warm up. Several things: If you were a 40 year old male with a 20 year smoking history, I'd say you need to see a cardiologist and treadmill test 2 rule out cardiac ischemia. However, you are a young female, so you are very low risk for having a "heart attack" This could be dehydration, postural hypotension, or even symptoms from an oncoming viral illness. Try to run fast 8 quarters (or 3-4 to begin with) and build up from there. This is an intense work-out if u do it right and will definitely increase your speed. Best of Luck! ...Read more
