What Is Absolute Monocytes In Blood Test
Ignore it: Percentages for cells mean almost nothing. And monocytes probably even less. This is fine. This information is very helpful in the work up of certain health problems. It is nothing to worry about if you feel well. The ranges are set so that several percent of healthiest arbitrarily fall outside. ...Read more
My monocyte level on last blood test had a value of 1.0 and was flagged as high. Should i be worried?
In my recent blood test my monocyte is 10% (ref on the paper is 3-8) could this mean some problem?Basofil is also "+" it is 2%. Thank you!
Minor issues: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, the counts you described are not a cause for concern. ...Read more
Just got results of a blood test. Mcv is 97.6(refferent values: 83-97.20) and monocytes are 0.093(ref:0.02-0.08). What means this? Thanks in advance!
Absolutely nothing: Values that are barely out of the reference range are rarely of any consequence. The ranges are set to reflect 95% of healthy patients, and so 2.5% of "normals" are high and the same for low. ...Read more
Male, age 23,Indian. On a Blood Test(CBC) all components are within Normal Range except for "MONOCYTES which are 01%". Anything to worry ??
No: Certain bone marrow abnormalities & large number of infections have been associated with monocytosis including brucellosis, varicella-zoster, bacterial endocarditis, tuberculosis, malaria, typhoid fever, syphilis, and trypanosomiasis. An abnormal WBC & other cell count are associated with these conditions. An isolated increase monocyte count is non-specific finding without any significance ...Read more
In blood test. Neutrophils low. Lymphs high Monocytes high .But only reading high on absolute was Granulocytes and Neutrophils. Cause for concern?
How high?: Percentages mean nothing. If your absolute granulocyte count was slightly above the reference range without abnormal forms and you feel well, it means nothing; this fluctuates and a cold shower can double it. ...Read more
Blood test shows 0 monocytes. All other components of bloods are in range except monocyte. Slightly raised in eosinophil. What happen if monocyte o ?
Bad result: There's no disease in which the monocytes disappear selectively and you're not obviously seriously sick. If your blood was sent to an old-fashioned lab in which 100 cells were counted, there might not have been a monocyte among them by dumb luck. Or a counting machine may have been run improperly. I'd also ignore any white count that's 'slightly raised' if you feel well. ...Read more
I was feeling ill and went to er and was told I was fine but I see my rdw and monocyte is high on my blood test . Should I worry ?
Think positive...: If you have been checked in ER, your doctor would have told you if there was anything significantly wrong. The kind of changes in your blood that you have noticed are not all that important in terms of causing any health probleems. As long as your Hemoglobin(Hb), white cell count(WBC) and platelet count are in the normal(reference range) you can be worry free. Just think positively , U are healthy ...Read more
4 and a half year old blood test indicates elevated monocyte count. What does that indicate? Has sinusitis, inflamed adenoids. Suspected iron deficien
Not clear: The statement suggests the blood test is 4and one half years old. I doubt that but if that were the case, the age of the test is meaningless. However, if you are talking about a 4 and a half year old child. the symptoms, and blood test are consistent with a viral upper respiratory tract infection. The iron deficiency is not necessarily related to the URI. ...Read more
My son aged 4 years 7 months, male has below readings from his blood test. Polymorphs - 49% Lymphocytes - 46% Monocytes - 1%....wht this indicate?
Viral? Nonspecific?: Depending on his symptoms it may suggest a viral infection and if he has none it may either signify a subclinical infection or nothing. Blood tests in isolation means nothing unless the whole picture of the child is taken into account. If worried u shd consult his doctor and discuss it with him. ...Read more

Do recent or current flu and cold and fever cause monocyte to be too low in a blood test with too high lymphocyte in the same test ?
WBC differential: Yes, this can happen. But you are taking lab tests too seriously out of the context of your current illness. Do not worry about these values, they will correct. ...Read more
I'm 33 - smoker - family history of cancer - Had blood test all normal but CEA 5.4 - creatinine 0.6 - monocytes 9% . Could I have cancer?
Why were you tested?: CEA is a poor screening test in people without symptoms or signs of cancer. And reference ranges are set so that a few percent of healthy folks fall outside on either end. This is very slightly above reference range and not uncommon for a smoker. Please try to stop and ask your physician whether chest imaging and/or colonoscopy are in order. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I just got my blood test report in which Polymorphs count is 62%, Lymphocytes-35%, Eosinophils-02%, Monocytes-01% & Basophils-00%. Do I need to worry?
On my recent blood test results my neutrophil% 83.6, lymphocyte% 11.3, & monocyte% 4.3. Is it normal for all 3 to be out of range? Could it be from UC
Does high monocytes and low amount of WBC in blood test indicate infection? and what does high amorphous sediment in urine test mean?
These mean nothing: Only a very high absolutely monocyte count is of any concern if you feel well, and low WBC is of concern if and only if lymphs or neuts are way-way low. If you're sick, this whispers "rule out typhoid". Amorphous sediment is simply stuff that was soluble at body temperature but crystallized as the urine cooled. It means nothing at all. ...Read more
Blood test RBC 4.07, Hemoglobin 129 Hematocrit 0.385 Monocytes 1.1 GFR 57 Alkaline Phosphatase 39 Also Urine Albumin/Creatinine 6.7?
Need more info: Trying to give you a "heads up" on the implications of these values is like knowing the full story of a book by just reading the table of contents. The best person to give you insight about what these lab values mean is the physician who ordered them and knows a lot about your general health and background. ...Read more
