Is it safe for me to use minoxidil topical solution 5% to grow facial hair?

Facial Hair Growth: Minoxidil is only FDA approved for hair growth on the crown of the scalp. However, because of it's mechanism of action, it can be applied to any area of the body where you want to improve hair follicle function. As long as you have enough hair follicles in the area, you can see an improvement. Keep in mind that areas of baldness would need transplantation, however. ...Read more

In chickenpox, is it safe and beneficial to use Betadine solution on the skin including the face to ease itching? Can it be applied to the scalp too?

I wouldn't: Betadine has the potential to sensitize you(make allergic) to its components if it is left on the skin for indefinite periods. I make great effort to remove any trace of it after I use it to sterilize an area for a procedure. ...Read more

Artefill is a relatively new wrinkle therapy. Is it safe? Artefill has recently come on the market as a face wrinkle therapy. In the past, some others have had adverse side-effects. I want to make sure I am getting the safest solution to my wrinkle proble

I : I agree 100% with the comments made regarding artefill. Although artefill has been in the market for cosmetic treatment only since 2003 (first in europe, then in 2006 it was approved by the us fda), the active ingredient in artefill, pmma, has been used for decades (50+ years) in a variety of medical applications including intraocular lenses to treat cataracts, and artificial joints. Since artefill is a long lasting filler, it should be administered by an experienced facial plastic surgeon or cosmetic surgeon who deals primarily with the face. I absolutely agree that asking for before and after pictures as well as asking questions regarding the physicians experience and expertise specifically in injecting artefill are important. Do not be shy to ask your doctor how experienced he or se is. It should be as natural as interviewing a babysitter who will be taking care of your precious kids. Artefill is a safe injectible and has gone trough the scrutinizing eye of the United States food and drug administration testing as well as the european pharmaceutical regulatory agencies for safety and effectiveness as a cosmetic injectible. Always remember that adverse effects may be the result of any medical treatment. As physicians we are obligated to ensure that you receive any treatment in the safest possible way with the safest possible materials and methods. ...Read more

Probably yes: Tobramycin ophthalmic solution 0.3% is a fairly common eye drop, or at least used to be. If it is a veterinary preparation, it should probably not be used in humans. My face is very fat. Any solution?

My face is very fat. Any solution?

Very fat face: Most people have already said it, you mostly can't lost fat in just your face. However, there is one thing I can think of: Face fat is sometimes a symptom of Carbohydrate Intolerance, or CI, and therefore can be reversed if you have CI. (A lot of people have it, and mostly no one knows about it.) After generations of people eating refined carbohydrates like sugar and white flour, many people suffer from CI. Your body just hasn't evolved to eat things like processed sugar and flour. ...Read more
