What Is A Mass In The Uterus
Blood vessels?: "hypervascular" means "many blood vessels." you must be referring to a ct or MRI scan with contrast, where the radiologist is referring to a high amount of contrast localizing to the spot in the liver. The question people want to know is "what is it?" and sometimes that's not possible to know on a simple scan alone, further tests may be needed. ...Read more

Different types: A polyp is a cluster of cells usually on a stalk representing transforming cells that may convert to Ca. A colon tumor is a area of bowel with malignant cells forming a discrete mass that can spread. Originally thought all Ca's of colon arose from polyps but now found that there is a transforming field effect in bowel where certain sites become polyps, not all converting and other sites, Cancer ...Read more
My uterus contains a 6cm fibroid in the posterior myometrium. Does this mean it is inside the uterus - or in the wall of the uterus?
Not enough info ...: The myometrium is the muscular wall of the uterus so most or all of the fibroid is in the wall. Posterior means the back wall of your uterus as opposed to the front. A fibroid in the myometrium may be completely within the wall (intramural) or project into the inside cavity of the uterus (submucosal) or it may be just under the outer covering of the uterus (subserosal). Ultrasound or MRI can tell. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What is the consistency of a cancerous lump on the testicle? How can one be sure it is not part of the epididymis?
Cancer is hard lump: Cancerous lump feels much harder than testicle itself. Lumps in epididymis usually smooth & almost always due to a cyst. Hard lumps of epididymis & spermatic cord occur, but very rarely. Consult urologist when in doubt, scrotal ultrasound will provide answer. Head of epididymis lies on top of testis. Epididymal cysts can be tender to touch, cancerous lumps non-tender unless hemorrhage has occurred ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
What is a "rare" lymphoid aggregate? And what is its relation when found in a myxoid stroma in the endometrium?
It sounds like you: have had an endometrial/uterine biopsy. Perhaps there was some abnormal bleeding. Myxoid simply means mucous-like; stroma simply means connective, functionally supportive tissue. Finding clumps of lymphoid cells in this uterine supportive tissue has no significance on its own if no other abnormalities are reported. "Rare" just means they only saw a few of them, not that they were unusual. ...Read more
What is the probability of a septated solid mass of 6cm in an ovary that ruptured being cancerous?
Long list: Including ovarian cysts/tumors, uterine fibroids, enlarged lymph nodes, and a host of other things. I would imagine that a ct scan would help narrow the possibilities down. If the mass was discovered by an imaging procedure then the radiologist would likely provide the most likely potential cause. ...Read more
What does bilateral masses mean in the context of the ovaries? That a mass is on both of the ovaries?
"Mass": The term "mass" generally implies something solid. It's not uncommon or necessarily bad for both ovaries to contain "cysts", which are fluid-filled. But the use of the term "masses" implies that we're dealing with solid things, which could be more concerning. These should be identified in no uncertain terms. ...Read more
