See MD: Sometimes a small lump cannot be felt, but can be picked up on mammography. It's always best to be safe than sorry, so it's better to find out before a lump appears. Check with OB: I would recommend that you see your ob. It may be a cyst ( a small fluid filled lump). It may be a clogged duct. It could be breast cancer. Best to see your md. You may need mammogram and possibly breast ultrasound to help rule out serious problems. Dont wait. See your md when you find a lump. Better safe than sorry. ...Read more

Breast Lump: All new breast lumps should be examined by a physician. They can be caused by many things - infection, cysts, cancer. Some patients may be feeling ribs or normal breast tissue when they are concerned with a lump. If a person finds a lump that is red or hot - it is more concerning for an infection and they should go to urgent care for evaluation, otherwise make appt with their PCP or GYN. ...Read more
