What Is A Heterogeneous Isoechoic
A growth: I assume this is a thyroid nodule which basically mean you have a growth on the thyroid. It's very common and not a cause for concern as long as you follow it again in the future to make sure if it's not growing. Biopsy of the nodule will help determine if it's benign or cancerous. The risk of cancer is very low, approx 5%. ...Read more
2.5mm heterogeneous hypoechoic nodule and ovoid isoechoic bilobed mass with hypoechoicc band through it which may be fluid. The mass measures 22mm long?
It would help: to know what organ we are talking about. In the breast these findings have one meaning, in the liver another. So it would be very helpful to know where we are going ...Read more
Within the endometrial cavity there is a
heterogeneous isoechoic mass identified measuring approximately 1.4 CM in largest diameter. Is this bad?
Probably not: At your age, I would repeat the ultrasound after your next cycle. ...Read more
My 12 yo's thyroid sono came back w/3 nodule- each >1cm: 1)slightly hypoechoic heterogeneous, 2)heterogeneously isoechoic w/internal vascularity 3) hetergenously hypoechoic w/in gland. How bad is it?
Probably not: This most likely represents benign findings but one of the nodules should be biopsied. ...Read more
Is it poss. Cancer? Us results thyroid nodule: solid, heterogeneous & isoechoic nodule w/in the mid to lower right lobe, 4.2cm, increas. Vascularity
What is a innocuous and isoechoic thyroid nodule.
Also what is a heterogenous nodule with tiny cystic spaces, it measures 0.7cm?
Hard to say: It's hard to say without seeing the actual images. An isoechoic nodule is typically nonspecific and potentially falls in the indeterminate range (ie need follow up or biopsy). Same thing for a heterogenous "nodule" with tiny cystic spaces. A "complex cyst" with tiny cystic spaces can be a sponge like cyst that is typically benign. ...Read more

Yeah, a concern:
Regular structures are generally not problems. Uniform and regular fluid filled sacs can be due to many reasons. Cancer or infection are not likely to be included. If, however, the sac is irregular, then infection or cancer are not impossible.
Otherwise depends on the location. Even a cyst inside the skull can be fatal due to pressure on the brain. A heterogeneous cyst on the back of the hand less ...Read more
Heterogeneous: Heterogeneous myometrium means that the texture of the myometrium is not the same across the length of it. It is probably OK if no discrete lesion is seen. If there are symptoms that cannot be explained by it, it may be reasonable to have a follow up ultrasound in 3 months to see if there has been a change in the appearance. ...Read more
It means: that the texture of the liver, as seen on ultrasound, is not uniform as it normally should be. There are numerous causes, the most common is fatty infiltration. Speak with your doc about what it means in your particular clinical situation. ...Read more
May be just a...: "heterogeneous" may be just used to describe the tissue texture of testis as seen on ultrasound or microscopic tissue exam to denote having various components with different sound reflections or histological looking. If more doubt, ask doctor for detail. ...Read more
Mixed echo pattern: Heterogeneous echogenic means ultrasound characteristics of area examined have combination of none, low and high echogenic pattern. This is compared to diffusely homogeneous pattern where diffusely same echo pattern. Certain lesions can be diagnosed by their echo pattern. ...Read more
It means: that it is the same echogenicity, or brightness, as adjacent normal tissue. Hyperechoic means it is brighter, hypoechoic means darker. The more reflective the structure, the more echogenic. It is a descriptive term. ...Read more
Hashimoto's : Hashimoto's thyroiditis can cause this. What is your tpo ab level? You may be sensitive to dairy and wheat as well. Need more info..: Where is it located? What is the size? There are many things that are "heterogeneous" from benign lipomas, to benign thyroid nodules, to benign ovarian lesions, etc, etc. Need much more clinical information to try to guess what this ccould be. Your doctor who requested the evaluation would be best to ask this question to. ...Read more
Isoechoic module well-circumscribed with some internal flow noted in right lobe noodle measurements are 37x16x21 mm what does this mean?

I had a transvag us done and they found heterogeneous myometrium. Also mild amount of fluid. Everything else looked normal. Is something wrong?
What does this mean??
1. The isthmus appears thickening measuring 0.4 cm, unchanged.
2. The right lobe is heterogeneous and enlarged measuring 5.
More info needed: More background needed as to why the test was done and what symptoms you are having but without knowing anything else, it sounds like you may have a goitre which is an enlarged overactive thyroid gland. However there are other organs in the body that this could be referring to, so as I said. More info is needed to give you a definite answer ...Read more
Are you referring: to breast ultrasound? Simple cysts are benign, cysts with solid components are more suspicious. Isoechoic and hypoechoic masses can be benign or malignant. The probability of malignancy depends on other ultrasound features. Some need biopsy, some can be followed or ignored. ...Read more
No, only descriptive: of appearance on US: isoechoic=uniform (iso=equal, uniform echos) in ultrasound reflections, cystic=fluid filled. Neither of these indicate cancer. Cancer would far more likely be solid, not cystic & have varying, not uniform ultrasound reflections from within the cancerous tissue(s). ...Read more
Mixed echogenicity : Thyromegaly means enlarge ment of thyroid gland. Heterogeneous means irregular texture, not same echogenicity throughout gland. No large discrete nodules are seen. Therapy is determined by evaluation that includes thyroid function tests. ...Read more
Small fibroids: The radiologist may want to say that he wouldn't be surprised if you turned out to have fibroid changes in your uterus on surgery, not overt fibroids, but very early beginning stages.
