I : I share your concerns. I do not know what symptoms you are having that you were prescribed Divigel for, but i assume that you are having menopausal symptoms that you are suffering from. My concern with you would be your family history of breast cancer. In addition, there is increased cardiovascular risks in women over 50 and in women who are overweight. I am very concerned that you could have consequences from taking this medication, so please discuss your risk factors with your doctor. My concern with herbal medications is that they carry the same risk with their estrogen-like substances as regular estrogen, so the herbal medication or bio-identicals have not been proven safe in large peer-reviewed studies either. There are other non-hormonal medications that can help menopausal symptoms, such as neurontin, but there are several others that you can read about or ask your doctor about as well. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Does diet affect fibroids? Is it possible to reduce the size by the foods we eat? Does stress cause them to grow?
Yes, yes and yes: Fibroids are a result of high estrogen levels. High estrogen can be caused by excessive carbohydrate intake (via competetive inhibition of glucoronidase enzyme) therefore a low carb diet is beneficial to reduce estrogen and help shrink fibroids. You may also have low iodine, thyroid problems, low progesterone. All of these things should be evaluated. All phytoestrogens should be avoided. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I'm anemic due to fibroids.I would like to go on a strict vegan diet for a month .To cleanse my body.Is it safe?No meat , eggs, dairy or fish .
Don't do it: Please forgive my frankness. Your body "cleanses" itself. You're an adult, and you know you're not going to get rid of a tumor that's making you bleed by eating only vegetables. You're iron-deficient but you say you're taking your iron pills "from time to time". You owe it to yourself and to those who love you to take real care of your health, restore your iron, and stop reading fantasy websites. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I m 24 weeks pregnant I have 2.8cm fibroid along the left uterine wall. Can i eat the normal diet and dairy product because i m vegetarian?
Avoid surgery: Despite the fact that fibroids are benign tumors, they are the number one reason why women undergo hysterectomy. This is completely unnecessary. If women knew more about fibroids and their treatment options (particularly uterine fibroid embolization ufe), they could completely avoid unnecessary surgery. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
