Had my neck, back adjusted and a dislocated rib popped back in. Came home and started feeling very warm and feverish. Is this normal?
Fever: Is usually not normal. Whether is related to the adjusted and the dislocated may be hard to tell. Let the person that adjusted your neck know your symptoms
My chiropractor told me I have a dislocated rib. He keeps adjusting it in place but it keeps popping back out. I'm icing it. What should I do next?
Get second opinion: I would see an Orthopedist (Medical Doctor) for a second opinion. Do not recognize "dislocated" when it comes to ribs...Get someone else to look at it Hope this helps Dr Z PS It does NOT sound "serious"...See 1 more doctor answer
Should a chiropractor be able to fix a dislocated rib in one visit? I was given a very gentle adjustmt & some PT, and asked to return tomorrow. Legit?
Most of us not chiro: Most MD doctors are not chiropractors, & so it wd b improper for any of us to say. (Like commenting on ur neighbor's mother-in-law, it's not our place). If u get any lasting benefit from it, then I wd say it works for u, and u can keep using it. But again, I am not sure how many of us know what chiropractors do, nor if there is any scientific basis for it. But please let us know how it goes.See 1 more doctor answer

Rib: Most rib injuries are treated conservatively. Certainly if you're having hard time breathing or if your pain is not well controlled with over-the-counter medications you can see your doctor on an outpatient basis.See 1 more doctor answer
Fell 2weeks ago, dislocated rib on Lt. Side, collarbone, shoulder blade& shoulder hurts& swollen the more I use it the more it hurts. What could it be
Shoulder pain fall: Since it still hurts after 2 weeks would repeat xrays as some fractures may not show up initially. Would also follow up with an orthopedist that specializes in shoulders and consider an MRI as you may have a labral or rotator cuff tear as well or bursitis. F/U witt orthopedist this week.

How do you tell if pain under lower right ribs is emergent? It may be a dislocated rib. Hist eds. It aches and occasional pain when moving around.
You'll know: Pain in the chest wall that is worse when you move or push on the chest wall is minor. You've got Ehlers-Danlos and can expect some nuisance discomfort like this. Pain that should bring you to the emergency room is obviously not normal pain and you'll know if it happens to you.
Need surgery to fix broken, dislocated rib. Would like to know if I have to stay in hospital and if so for how long don't see doctor until Tuesday?
Unusual: Unless a rib has punctured a lung, surgery is rarely indicated. If the lung is not injured, I have a difficult time understanding the need for surgery. If your leg was punctured a day - overbite, I the hospital should be adequate w/o complications.
It could, but...: True rib dislocations are caused by high energy trauma, not bad posture, muscle spasm, or ctd. There are some health professionals that reportedly manipulate dislocated ribs back in place, however, anatomically the joint bet. Rib and vertebrae is so rigid that the dislocation/relocation process is a trauma/surgery relationship. See your ob/gyn or pcp for an exam and to discuss other causes ; tx.See 1 more doctor answer
Pain: The usual symptoms are pain, principally on breathing, and shortness of breath. Confirmation is by chest x-ray.
Maybe: Chest pain can herald many problems but dislocated ribs do not arise out of nowhere they are traumatic injuries. Sudden sharp chest pain on one half of chest can be a collapsed lung - especially if associated with significant shortness of breath. Similar pain can also be from an infection in the pleural space (next to the lung). Dull pain in middle of the chest can be from heart or esophagus.See 1 more doctor answer
No: Usually not. The joints are cartilage and do not show on x-ray.
I've been coughing for almost 3 weeks now, this has caused me serious pain in my rib area on both sides... Could I have a rib dislocated or broken?
It's possible, but: More likely is, you have sore muscles of the chest wall, muscle soreness, from all the coughing. Your breathing muscles contract forcefully every time you cough, and therefore, become very sore with prolonged coughing. Time to c a doc to find out why u r coughing and get treatment.
