Can dietary supplements be taken with thyroxine? I am due to start on it but am currently taking lots of supplements

Calcium, iron beware: The two substances that most commonly cause decreased stomach absorption of thyroid hormone are calcium and iron. We usually recommend that any vitamins, supplements and medicines (e.g. Antacids) that contain calcium and/or iron be taken at least 3-4 hours separated from thyroid pills. I am taking Synthroid (thyroxine) for hypothyroid, can I take Super DMZ 2.0 dietary supplement?

I am taking Synthroid (thyroxine) for hypothyroid, can I take Super DMZ 2.0 dietary supplement?

I recommend to all my fellow lifters to stay away from synthetic prohormones/steroids. Go natural. Increase your protein intake, lean meat, fish, chicken with good carbs. Use a good whey protein as supplement right after working out. Many in the market. Weight lift first then a small 20 min aerobic. ...Read more

That's silly: Forgive my frankness. This is news to me after 40 years in medicine and I traced it to a phony "natural healing" doctor-bashing scare website. You do best to take thyroid hormone replacement on an empty stomach and waiting a while maybe 30 minutes before eating, but you were probably told that when it was prescribed. It's of minor importance. Best wishes. ...Read more
