What is a diastolic pressure time index?

What is a diastolic pressure time index?

DPTI: It is a measure of coronary blood supply. Multiply the coronary perfusion pressure times the diastolic tmie. Cpp =diastollic blood pressure minus the left vetricular end diastolic pressure. Diastolic time is 60sec/heart rate-0.2seconds. The 0.2 is systolic time(fixed at 0.2s). Coronary flow occurs during diastole and relates to the pressure and how long diastole lasts. Now ask me what the evr is. ...Read more

Diastolic Pressure (Definition)

Diastolic pressure is essentially the pressure in the blood vessels in between beats when the heart is filling for the next beat, or the "resting pressure". On a blood pressure meter it is the bottom number, with normal for most patients ...Read more

What is the safest range of a pulse pressure in a blood pressure? Is it really 30-60 difference between systolic and diastolic blood pressure?

What is the safest range of a pulse pressure in a blood pressure? Is it really 30-60 difference between systolic and diastolic blood pressure?

Many factors. HT Pri: The pulse pressure is just 1 of many numbers on a blood pressure recording that has information for doctors. While the "normal" pulse pressure is about 40 mmHg, with a range you mentioned, a pulse pressure outside of that range may not be significant. In general, a high pulse pressure is worse than a low one, but it also depends on the NUMBER of the systolic (upper)reading. TTYD or HealthTap Prime ...Read more

What does it mean if a systolic pressure is normal and the diastolic is low? 126/60

What does it mean if a systolic pressure is normal and the diastolic is low? 126/60

Normal: Don't worry, this is common and normal to see. Oftentimes automated blood pressure cuffs have difficulty in finding an accurate diastolic BP (the lower number). A wide difference (>80) between the systolic and diastolic pressures would be abnormal and worth investigation. ...Read more

Not much: Wether your diastolic pressure is rising more than your systolic pressure means the same as when it is the other way around . It is hypertension and to be treated the same. ...Read more

Why is it that my Blood pressure 90% of the time is 100 systolic/ 60 diastolic? Is that good?

Why is it that my Blood pressure 90% of the time is 100 systolic/ 60 diastolic? Is that good?

Normal: A BP of 100/60 is normal for your age.If you are concerned that it might be too low a standing BP would help. Normally on standing the systolic BP will decrease by 5-10 mm Hg and the diastolic BP will increase by 5-10 mm Hg. If you get lightheaded or dizzy on standing or your systolic BP decreases by 20 mm Hg or more OR your diastolic BP decreases by 10 mm Hg or more your blood pressure is too low ...Read more

Blood pressure - what is happening to my body during the systolic and diastolic numbers?

Blood pressure - what is happening to my body during the systolic and diastolic numbers?

Very complex: If your heart were one room w/2 doors, completely filled w/ blood, systolic=back door shuts&walls close in, pushing blood out the front door.Diastolic=front door slams behind the blood&back door opens again, filling heart as the walls return to room size.Your body's vessels is the pipe between both doors.Systolic=pipes stretch&receive blood;diastolic=pipes push back, returning blood to back door. ...Read more

Is there a problem if the systolic number of a blood pressure is bellow 80 but the dystolic is just normal?

Is there a problem if the systolic number of a blood pressure is bellow 80 but the dystolic is just normal?

???: Systolic is the first/top number and is the higher. It's the pressure your heart generates when squeezing. Diastolic is the lower one from when the heart relaxes. A systolic below 80 would usually make an adult pretty dizzy. Diastolic would be low also, so i think you may be reversed. Check again in both arms. ...Read more

How significant is mean arterial pressure, and what is a good range? Mine averages 84.

How significant is mean arterial pressure, and what is a good range? Mine averages 84.

Very significant: Map is considered to be the perfusion pressure seen by organs in the body. It is believed that a MAP that is greater than 60 mmhg is enough to sustain the organs of the average person. Map is normally between 70 to 110 mmhg. If the MAP falls significantly below this number for an appreciable time, the end organ will not get enough blood flow, and will become ischemic. ...Read more

Is having a consistently lower than normal diastolic blood pressure a good or bad thing (i.e between 40-50 mmhg) if the systolic pressure is the normal range (i.e in the 90s mmhg)?

Is having a consistently lower than normal diastolic blood pressure a good or bad thing (i.e between 40-50 mmhg) if the systolic pressure is the normal range (i.e in the 90s mmhg)?

Prob normal for you: There are some red flags associated with a low diastolic blood pressure in older people (may mean arteries are stiffer, or taking too much of an anti--hypertensive drug(s), but in a young male such as yourself, it is likely normal. Especially since your systolic blood pressure, while normal, is on the low side, too. Unless you have symptoms such as dizziness/light-headedness, I would not worry:) ...Read more

What is the normal reading for blood pressure on a personal BP cuff?

What is the normal reading for blood pressure on a personal BP cuff?

Normal For You: An "average" blood pressure is 120/80 which means 120 mm mercury systolic (full heart pump) and 80 mm mercury diastolic (heart at rest between beats). Many other factors enter into the number which makes it higher or lower, but normal for you. Example: athletes BP is usually lower, the elderly have higher bp's but both are prefectly fine. Find what is normal for you. Extremes are bad. ...Read more
