Drink to glasses of water before every meal (helps to fill stomach with 0 calories. Modest portions, no seonds, and confine snacks to carrots, celery or raw vegetables plus start getting regular daily exercise.

Yes: Giving the correct portion sizes, healthy foods and low to no calorie drinks is very beneficial. Home exercise, sports, swimming and getting more active would also be very helpful. Teen athlete: It scares me a bit to hear you comment a 13 year old is "living like a pro". His body just is not ready for the stressors that pro athletes endure, and this lifestyle at such a young age has a very high rate of burn-out associated with it. If there is a sports medicine doc in your area, it would be worth the investment to consult them for an age appropriate regimen, diet and sleep schedule.

Caution: Obesity is a complex issue with genetic, environmental and hormonal causes. Extreme or stringent diets are not recommended for an adolescent however avoiding processed foods and added sugar while increasing lean protein, fruits and vegetables and walking 30 minutes per day is a good way to start improving your health. Weight loss should be slow and sustainable.

Kids are great: They tend to eat what they need. They may eat one thing for a week and then stop it and move on to something else. They may eat nothing for days and then eat very well again. Provide him with healthy choices and he will choose what to eat. I worry less about "making" them eat certain things. Some prefer fruits to veggies. Some like meat and others refuse all meat. It is all ok.

Hmm: Consider seeing your doctor for other causes of alopecia. If it is seborrhea, Selsun, Nizoral (ketoconazole) may help, but with the alopecia you may need topical Minoxidil, Propecia or other medical procedures. Good luck
