It depends on the: laxative I guess, but the answer lies in what you are doing with Azo to start with. Azo should not be taken for more than 2-3 days, as the acute infection improves. If you take Azo for more than that, like any other numbing agents, it does not work quite as well. Hydration & Exercise: There are many reasons for relative constipation. Have your md review your current medications for constipation as side effect.
