Chronic fatigue, tiredness, general "out of it" feeling, back/flank pain, GERD, IBS, migraine headaches, palpitations, waking from sleep with racing heart, low vitamin d levels, ferritin level of 14, TSH fluctuations; what could this be?
See internist: This problem is so complex that I would urge you to see an internal medicine doctor ASAP. Gluten-intolerance is one condition you will need to rule out but there are also issues which cannot be explained by gluten intolerance alone. I presume you have significant anemia as well. Can you list some key differences between fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome? I have most symptoms of both, so need some way of distinction.

Cfs may be distinguished from fm on the basis of the presence of cognitive dysfunction, which is absent in fm. ...Read more
I have fibro and chronic fatigue amongst other things, I've been told I need to get fit and loose weight to manage the pain but I don't know how! Help?
Slow and steady: Exercise w/ fibro should be low impact and low to moderate intensity but needs to be consistent (ie daily). Ideally should incorporate meditation/stress reduction too, such as yoga. Obviously not going to burn a lot of calories, at least initially so weight loss needs to be through dietary modification. In other words, NOT a crash/fad diet- focus on whole, plant based foods, drink lots of water. ...Read more

Two possible reasons are: constant pain is fatigueing so pain relief may increase energy level. Also opiates have a stimulating effect in some people. Taken in large doses, tramadol can produce euphoria. This is not recommended as this is the first step in developing an addiction to the drug. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What does low monocytes (3.0%) and high basophils (2.0%) indicate? Symptoms include joint/muscle/back pain, chronic fatigue, 12+ hours of sleep. Help!
Use cell count not %: Hi. The % monocytes, basophils, or any other cells in the WBC differential are not useful; cell counts (i.e., absolute cell number) should be expressed for meaningful data. In other words, cell % may be abnormal in the setting of normal cell count and no pathology. Talk with your doc who ordered the CBC/differential. Good luck! ...Read more
