I've tongue twitches since 01/2015. Several clean neuro exams, 2 clean EMG (02 : limbs and tongue, 05 : tongue). Just a multiplet after speaking. ALS?
No BUT....: By all means gear up for the August 2015 Ice Bucket Challenge that the ALS Foundation of America is going to hold again. Check with doctor: Check with your doctor to make sure that you do not have a yeast infection on your tongue. You also need to make sure that you do not have some other condition like diabetes that could cause you to be dehydrated and constantly have a dry mouth. Been taking 100mg haldol (haloperidol) injection for 2 years. Have trouble speaking properly because of tongue. Why do I have trouble and how long until wears off?
It's a side effect: Haloperidol can cause a range of well known muscular-coordination problems. . There are additional medications that may reduce these effects and may improve our speech.. There are also other injetable called "atypical" or second generation. Medications that have less of these effects.
