I don't think: Temporary ileostomy would have any effect on your pain, even assuming that it is caused by redundant colon. Consult with a gi specialist and a surgeon, but I am not aware of any studies that show temporary ileostomy helps pain from redundant colon. ...Read more

U will be full of it: Peristalsis is the automatic contraction of smooth muscles to propel contents through the digestive tract. Without it functioning normally, you will not be able to swallow food, and if you manage to get food to the stomach, it will just sit there. Once in the intestine/colon, stools will just sit there as well. Thus making you full-of-it. :-)
