What happens to cheek implants over time?

What happens to cheek implants over time?

Hopefully nothing: Silicone cheek implants, however, have an unpredictable occasional tendency to suddenly extrude even decades after placement. Expanded polyethylene devices tend to incorporate and become almost like bone. Cheek implants can effect significant improvement in facial aesthetic (incl nose over-prominence)but can also cause a change in character: "i don't look like me anymore". ...Read more

You will becomhollow: Removal of implants always results in the lack of volume, where the implant used to be. If this is the procedure you are considering, consider fat transfer as a replacement of the implant, it's all natural and should last and last, if of course done by a true specialist.
Good luck from nyc. ...Read more

Do cheek implants look natural? My face doesn't have much structure to it, and I want to get cheek implants to add more definition. Will they be so obvious that people will notice or will they just subtly enhance my appearance?

I'm: I'm sorry that no one has answered your question. I am new to avvo and just came across it. Whether or not it looks natural depends on many factors, including how you look now, how big and where the implants are placed, etc. If you only need a subtle enhancement, the facial fillers (particulary radiesse) work very well and require very little recovery time. ...Read more

Cheek: Cheek implants do not reduce the size of the cheek, if anything they enhance the appearance. Depending on the location and distribution of fat in your cheek, there are different procedures in which one may remove the excess fat in order to sculpt and contour the ceek to your desired appearance. One of the procedures used to sculpt and shape the cheek can be by liposuctino of the surface of the cheek if the fat is distributed closer to the ear or over the face. This procedure may be performed under local anesthetic and has only few days of downtime.
Aternatively if the lower cheek is involved buccal fat removal is a possibility where we make an incision on the inside of the mouth and remove the appropriate amount of fat without any scars. ...Read more

Well: Well its hard to give advice on this without seeing the problem but I can tellyou that what you are describing is not fixed by fillers or implants... In fact, implants and fillers will make your cheeks appear more full which sounds like exactly what you don't want... There are procedures that help define and sculpt the cheeks. None of them are risk free and all should be discussed with your facial plastic surgeon at length...

Hope this helps

Will cheek implants help my sagging cheek bones?

They can.: A cardinal sign of aging is loss of facial volume. Replacing the lost volume can restore support to the skin. With the advent of longer lasting injectable fillers (perlane, juvederm, restylane, (dermal fillers) radiesse, etc...), it is possible to maintain cheek fullness without surgery. It requires repeated treatments to maintain the results. Cheek implants can provide a more permanent increase in volume. ...Read more

What are the benefits of the different cheek augmentation procedures? I have lost a lot of the fat in my cheeks as I have aged, so I am considering cheek augmentation. I know that both cheek implants and permanent fillers are available, but I do not know

Will cheek implants cause my eyes to slant more?

No.: Cheek implants will enhance the cheekbones. Proper placement will not affect the eyes. One surgical approach utilizes lower eyelid incisions to place the cheek implants, which can then allow the ps to tighten and improve the lower eyelid position as this is sutured. But that costs "extra" and would be considered eyelid surgery in addition to cheek implant placement! ...Read more

As a teenager, am I too young to have cheek implants? I am sixteen years old and trying to get into the modeling industry. I have been told that my cheeks need some work done. My mom thinks that I am too young to have this procedure done. I was wondering,

Whether: Whether you're old enough to have cheek implants depends on whether you've stopped growing or not. It is important that your facial growth has stabilized before considering this type of surgery.

Another option to improve cheek definition is facial fat grafting. I don't normally recommend this procedure in teenagers, though, as there are concerns with how the grafted fat will behave as you mature in the future. ...Read more

Will cheek implants help my sagging cheek bones? I am reaching the seventy year mark and have noticed that my face is starting to look more sunken. I have always been proud of my appearance and this is disturbing me a lot. I have considered several differ

Aging: Aging takes place slowly and unfortunately is progressive. Looking more "sunken" or loss of volume in the face can be related to loss of bone structure support or soft tissue support or both. If you feel young and would like to rejuvenate this area, there are many options including cheek implants. Cheek implants are placed through incisions in the gumline and are considered "permanent". The implant will reposition your cheek area and give you "higher cheekbones". Other options for rejuvenation in this area can include less invasive procedures include fat augmentation or transfer or dermal injection techniques.

Fat transfer involves harvesting fat from one area of your body, processing it and then injecting it into the areas needed volume or needing rejuvenation.

Dermal fillers can involve temporary or more permanent substances and are the least invasive of the options for rejuvenation of the cheek area. Sculptra is a product which offers long term rejuvenation while also helping stimulate your own collagen for added volume. Less permanent fillers include radiesse, restylane, (dermal fillers) and juvederm.

A experienced board certified facial plastic surgeon should be consulted to give you the best advice. I would recommend in most over 60 year old patients a combined approach using the technique which my patients desire and I feel would give them the safest and best results.

I hope this information helps you in making your decision. You can also visit my website at www. Pattmd. Com for more information. ...Read more

Is there an fda approved permanent filler that can be used in tear trough? I will be getting cheek implants/rhinoplasty -will speak to the surgeon. Ty

No: The skin of the tear trough is very thin and that makes it very difficult to design a "perfect filler." some have use fat injections, thinking that they would be soft and permanent however they can sometimes get firm and then create little "bumps" that are difficult to get rid of.
