My wife is 4 weeks pregnant should I stop using tamoxifen for slight gyno and is it going to effect the baby.
Does copaxone (glatiramer) effect the way tamoxifen works, on tamoxifen since 2010, menstrual cycle stop, started copaxone (glatiramer) in october 13' cycle came 2 weeks after?
Of course: But is it advised by yoiur doctor or not? Please check if it is time to stop or not. If you have received the maximum possible benefit, then you can stop it and you will not have ill effects due to tamoxifen.
1 week: 1 week should be enough time.Get a more detailed answer ›
Not that many: Let us start with the paradox that stopping seems to work as a cancer therapy?!? http://www. Ncbi. Nlm. Nih. Gov/pmc/articles/PMC3180409/? report=classic Then, not blocking female hormones whoe allow these hormones to begin working. Menstrual cycling possibly returning, breast growth pssible (not likely) mood changes.See 1 more doctor answer
Having a TLH/BSO but on tamoxifen. I know I stop the tamoxifen prior to surgery, how soon? Surgeon says ask onc onc says ask surgeon. Do I stop Lipitor (atorvastatin)?
Stop both 1wk preop: I assume that the rationale for tamoxifen and the hyst BSO are for metastatic breast Ca. If the oophorectomy controls the disease the tamoxifen should not be used in order to evaluate the effect of castration on disease. Lipitor (atorvastatin) can ne restarted when post op diet is resumed. Hormone ablation best used for ER+ disease and not triple neg problems.
Yes: Tamoxifen is an antiestrogen that blocks the ability of breast cancer cells to use estrogen; therefore, it is only effective in hormone sensitive (estrogen receptor +) breast cancers. When taken for 5 years, tamoxifen has been shown to both stop the growth of cancer cells in breast cancer patients and to prevent the development of breast cancer in women that are at high risk.See 1 more doctor answer
Aim for better adher: An occasional missed dose is not a big deal and would not compromise the efficacy of tamoxifen. But better adherence should be executed. One way to do this is to make it a habit to take your medicine same time everyday: it could be timed as the first thing or the last thing you do daily. Then it will become a habit.
Not of serious cons: When used for long term use, some degree of missed dosing is common and it is difficult to say if it make any difference, particularly with drug like tamoxifen which stays in the body for several days after the last dose taken. That said you need to avoid frequent interruptions which can be detrimental.
If my wife was taking tamoxifen for 2 weeks only to improve fertility and we found out she was pregnant, is this going to affect the baby?
Tamoxifen: Is not used to improve fertility and can be associate with abnormalities if the woman taking it becomes pregnant. Effective birth control is recommended for women taking tamoxifen and for two mos. After it's use. Why was your wife receiving the drug in the first place? Check with your ob/gyn immediately.
If tumor markers are elevated does it mean tamoxifen isn't working? Dr. Wants to recheck in two weeks. What is next? Had recon surgery in december.
Check again: Not sure what "recon surgery" means but please do not take an elevated tumor marker as a certainty for cancer. You did not say how much it went up but remember there can be lab errors and even if it's a true elevation, it may not have any meaning. A tumor marker can go up for other reasons. I see nothing wrong with repeating one in a short interval. Hope it all goes well.
Taking tamoxifen and zoladex (goserelin). No period for 4 years had 3 polyps removed 6 weeks ago still bleeding?
Oncologist started me on Effexor (venlafaxine) XR for the hot flashes from tamoxifen. Taking it for 1 week extremely tired & nausea. Will benefits outweigh sideeffect?
I had a scan last week and have 11mm lining. Have been on tamoxifen for 4years. Had heavy bleeding now bad pains. In for a d&c...what can I expect.??
Important Answers: Tamoxifen can cause abnormal growth/thickening of your uterine lining with subsequent heavy bleeding. If left undiagnosed/untreated it can lead to endometrial cancer. During the D&C you will be asleep, and feel no pain. Ur Dr will remove the excess tissue and have it examined to rule out cancer and to determine if any additional treatment is needed. Take Care!
Hi please help me hah, I started myself on a hpta restart cycle with nolvadex, (tamoxifen) I'm 3 weeks into it and I am dizzy and confused, what do I do please?

I m using sustanon 250, winstrol and oxandrolone for 6 weeks. Will it shut down my natural testosterone production. Should I use tamoxifen after cycle?
Anabolic steroids: All three of these drugs are Anabolic steroids and will shut down your own natural testosterone production, as well as sperm production, likely causing infertility. Taking tamoxifen will not change this. These drugs are illegal if used for athletic enhancement, can have significant long term side effects. You are a young male who should not be sacrificing your future for some short term gain.See 1 more doctor answer
Should I talk with my doctor about tamoxifen if my blood work comes out high in estrogen next week and would tamoxifen reduce some very minor gyno?
What's going on?: Why are you, a young guy, 20 years old, being tested? What's going on? Tamoxifen is only indicated in some types of breast cancers in males and females. There is no other reason for a guy to take it. Off label use has been done for ovarian cancer and female infertility. Talk to your doc about what your treatment options are, and I doubt tamoxifen will be one of them, if you don't have breast ca.See 1 more doctor answer
