My doctor said my lipid panel blood test results looked good. Is that an indication that I am not eating to much saturated fat?
Not necessarily but: Saturated fats can affect cholesterol levels, but about half of those who die from cardiovascular disease have "normal" lipid levels. Saturated fats may cause arterial damage independent of effects on lipid levels, but the degree to which saturated fats increase risk of heart disease is controversial. Nuts are healthy: Nuts are a healthy part of your diet but only if you avoid the typical highly salted peanuts common to the states. Recent study of mediterranean diet found benefit from those who ate lots of nuts, say 30g/d: 15g/d of walnuts, 7.5g/d of almonds & 7.5g/d of hazelnuts. Sugar & table salt: are not good for you. Sea salt better.More than skin breaking out, you can get the epidemic of today eventually, type II diabetes from sugar and too many carbs.
