What does it mean when you have low vitamin d? Where do we get vitamin d?

What does it mean when you have low vitamin d? Where do we get vitamin d?

Low vitamin D: Hi. Humans make our own vitamin D if we get adequate sunlight exposure; we live and work indoors, and few of us can make enough on our own. Milk is fortified with vitamin D...and cod liver oil...if you're into that sort of thing. Vitamin D3 supplements are cheap and work perfectly; they are fat-soluble vitamins, and best taken with a meal. Good luck! ...Read more

Please explain what it means when u have low vitamin d?

Vitamin D: Low vitamin d it is below about 20. Research shows that raising your vitamin d level can boost immunity, elevate mood, and more. The darker your skin, the lower vitamin d can be because we make it through the sun on our skin. About 60% of whites in us are low, about 75% latino low, and maybe 85-90% african americans low. Can you tell me what can it mean when u have low vitamin d?

Inflammation: Low vitamin d has always been thought to be generally related to low sun exposure. A recent study suggests that it may represent something more concerning such as inflammation that can lead to more serious illness. The same study showed that treating the low vit. What exactly does it mean to have low vitamin d that won't go up, and what more can I do?

Take more!: I have no idea how much vit d you are taking but most adults need to take 5-8, 000 iu/day to achieve optimal levels and if you're low it is safe and reasonable to try 10, 000 iu/day. Only take d3, not d2. It's best to take with 5-10, 000 iu of vit a and 1 mg of vit k too as they work as a team. Why do so many people have low vitamin d levels?

Low intake, less sun: Most of us don't get enough on our diet. And most of us are indoors most if the time. And if we're smart, when we do go outside, we put sunscreen on. No uv rays, no skin cancer, but also no vitamin d. ...Read more

Ask your doc if: you can take 5K IUs of D3, once daily. You can find it in the health food store. Your D3 is very low and this can raise it. Look for an optimal lab reading of between 50 & 80. That's what the D experts suggest. Peace and good health. ...Read more

I have low vitamin d and high cholesterol issue?

Not linked: I don't think these two issues are linked for u. Get active outside to treat your vit d. If that doesnt work u can take an supplement, say 800 u per day. Hi chol treatment depends on the breakdown of LDL and hdl. If LDL is high, (for you, > 160), might consider medication, but first, eat less sat fat, exercise. What to do if I have low vitamin d levels so is it okay to take these supplements?

I have low vitamin D level & low Potasstuim level should I be worried ? Can it be cause by candida ? Wasn't a healthy eater until now

Unrelated: Hi. Low potassium (K) and low vitamin D are mechanistically unrelated. Is your K reproducibly low? Do you have high blood pressure? If you do, that and the low K may be related. The low vitamin D is just that most of us don't get enough sunlight to make our own, so you need dietary supplements. NONE of it is related to Candida! ...Read more

I have low vitamin D is that why there's a faint line on a pregnancy test it's happened before like that?

I read people with UCTD who have low vitamin D levels more likely to progress to defined disease. Do supplements reduce chances of UCTD progressing?

Why do you ask?: This question can't be answered, and anything you read online is at best "pop" impressions. Nobody even has criteria for "undifferentiated connective tissue disease" that everybody agrees on. If you're vitamin D deficient, and a great many people are, for everybody's sake take a sensible supplement. This common deficiency accounts for much of the bone pain that folks may think is CTD. ...Read more

I was told I have low vitamin d. The doctor prescribed 50, 000 units 1 a week for 12 weeks is this too much? After the twelve weeks I should take 1, 000

Ok: It's a standard dose. Recheck level in 12 weeks and follow your doctor advice. What you are taking is vitamin d2. The over the counter vit d3 is better absorbed but some physicians prefer d2 first to quickly get your level up. Make sure to follow up with your doctor. ...Read more
