What Happens If You Have A Cyst In Your Earlobe
I think I have a cyst in each earlobe my question is 1)how do you know if you have a cyst? 2)can I pierce my ears? Or get a piercing right next to it?
Have it examined: A cyst will feel like a moveable ball. They can form from piercing and they can also get infected. You should not get another piercing until it is examined. Sometimes when they get infected there is left a big scar or defect in the ear which will be hard to fix. See you doctor.
A cyst is a structure or mass that consists of a cellular lined sac. It is typically filled with fluid but may be filled with solid material. It can be congenital, traumatic, or acquired. They may develop nearly anywhere in the body and usually require complete excision for eradication or they are likely to recur. Fluid filled sacs that are not cellular lined ...Read more
I squeezed what I thought was a cyst in my earlobe. Could it have been a lymphnode and ifso will I die?
No - don't squeeze: Earlobes don't have lymph nodes. There are lymph nodes all around the ear, but none in the pinna or lobe. It is never a good idea to squeeze lumps - it can lead to infection and scarring. It sounds like whatever you picked at is unlikely to lead to your death.See 1 more doctor answer
I have a cyst in both my earlobes, the cysts are not noticeable but one earlobe has now got bigger than the other. What should I do? Thanks
Possible infection: Cysts are benign. However, they can get infected and they can increase in size. If pain, one would think in terms of infection. If not pain then non-infected size is probably the issue. In the long run, if a cyst is causing problems, it can and ought to be removed. Draining a cyst will get it's size down but it will eventually refill; they have to be removed entirely to be gone
Infection: It can get bigger and become painful. There is also a chance that a cyst could get infected and the removing it can become a bigger problem.See 1 more doctor answer
Ball in ear: This could be a keloid or like you said a cyst. See a surgeon.

I have a cyst on my earlobe and it is infected and it has been coming and going for over a year now and it has caused my earlobe to swell 2 or 3 times?
Sebaceous cyst: Cysts in the earlobe are often quite tender. They can get infected, then the pain is even worse. They are usually treated with antibiotics when acutely infected. But, when they "calm" down, removal is usually accomplished in the office. You should see an ENT md to see if it warrants removal at this time
Small cyst in earlobe popped under skin. Earlobe has swollen, is slightly warm, but not too painful. Should I wait to see what happens?
NO: Most likely you have infected cyst, if you get it drained (I&D) you will get quicker relief from pain and less scar formation on your ear lobule, see your doctor also you may need Rx for antibiotics
Infection: Apply antibiotic ointment under a bandaid. If the area gets red or tender, please see your doctor.

Can sebaceous cysts go away on their own. Ithink I have one on the front of my earlobe, and it's been there for a 5-6 weeks and it hasn't gotten bigger?
RARELY: RARELY sebaceous cysts go away on their own. They can be small for years and never cause a problem or they often ge tinfected then they need to be treated and drained or removed
Cyst: Have it removed surgically.Get a more detailed answer ›
Could a cyst appear where the jaw meets the ear, sort of like right under the earlobe. And what exactly is a cyst?
Cyst back of earlobe. Squeezed and seemed to burst under skin. Tender after that and seems a little swollen today, but could be from squeezing it.?
Of course: Even if no cyst, if you mash hard enough it will be bruised.
Small hard ball in earlobe showed up within two days. I have my ears pierced, but it's not on the piercing. It hurts when I touch it. Is this a cyst?
I have what I think is a cyst in the area close to the hole in my ear and the earlobe. What should I do? Let it go away by itself? It feels like a pea
Wait: If it becomes red, swollen, and tender it may be an abscess. If so, see your doctor as it might need to be drained. If not, give it some time and see what happens. If it lasts more than a week or two, have your doctor take a look.

Recurring sebaceous cyst in earlobe. Why is my brother's doctor saying surgery to remove earlobe and not just the cyst and the sac of the cyst?
Ear Lobe Cyst: I don't know the specifics of this problem, the size of the cyst, nor what the ear lobe looks like. But if the size and shape of the ear lobe appears relatively normal, then it would seem appropriate to remove the cyst with preservation of as much of the ear lobe as possible.See 1 more doctor answer
