Inflammation: Lupus and the pre-menstrual phase of the cycle are both known for being states of increased inflammation, so it makes sense that you might have this and notice it during your menstrual cycle. Yes: Only myoglobin would be related to muscle. With lupus, possibly inflammatory. It could be associated with elevated ck but not always, depending on extent of disease. ...Read more

Everyone differs: Everybody's lupus is different. You may have some symptoms but you may also may have some manifestations you don't even feel. Your physician can better able answer your question. SLE : Confusion and dizziness are common symptoms with many causes. When they occur during every lupus flair the SLE is the most likely cause. These symptoms can also be caused by steroids used to treat SLE flairs as well as other medications. You did not say how often your flairs occur or how long they last. You may want to discuss options to prevent these flairs with your rheumatologist. ...Read more

ANA: no correlation!: There is no correlation with ANA titer and lupus flares! there is with anti-dna antibodies, and various other tests including c2, c4, lymphocyte count. Sle does not raise CRP for unknown reasons! discuss this rheumatology issue with your rheumatologist or pcp. Irrespective of Prednisone helping flares, you should be on plaquenyl which prevents flares! ...Read more

How 2 cope w/job (i'm an rn) during terrible mental fog during lupus flare. Should i up my prednisone every time (it helps)or just call in sick &rest?

Control the disease: If the flares and the cognitive issues are occurring fairly frequently, you need to achieve better control of the lupus rather than relying solely on prednisone.
