Typically : Typically it is recommended that you take antibiotics after eating. Taking the medication on an empty stomach is an invitation to an upset stomach especially if it mixes with the acid in your stomach. Try eating something a half hour prior to taking the medication. If this continues discuss it with your dentist to see if they can change to another antibiotic. Are you taking pain medications at the same time? If so that is an additional reason that you are experiencing GI upset. One additional note, this is probably not an allergy as is typically thought by patients. ...Read more

Pulpitis: If you are getting lingering pain to hot and cold stimuli, then you have a pulpitis, or inflamation of the pulp of a tooth. This would necessitate a root canal on the offending tooth. As we get older, we may get more decay, fillings, crowns etc on a tooth. All these cumulative things traumatize the pulp and the result can be a pulpitis. ...Read more
