This is likely related to bile overflow since your gallbladder is removed and now bile is being stored in the duodenum (could lead to overproduction). Aka post-cholecystic syndrome. NO, however...: Milk thistle has been the subject of many research studies. While the results are mixed re: benefits, the studies have found it is quite safe. However, it can cause nausea, but this should stop as soon as you stop taking it.
