What Exercises Should I Avoid With Trapezius Pain At The Gym
Give me suggestions about diet plan and exercise to increase my muscle size and strength. I noticed only small development in 6 months of gymming.
See below: Decrease processed carbohydrates, such as bread, pasta, cookies, and so on. Eat well balanced meals, including healthy carbs, fats, and proteins. Drink water. Do weight intensive exercises with your major muscles, working to do each set to exhaustion. One or two sets, six to eight reps each, once or twice a week, so show excellent results in two months. You may not be using heavy enough weights.
Exercises for back: Both the neck and the back needs gently daily stretching, sometimes some anti inflammatories and healthy core muscle without being overweight to protect it. Maybe an occasional massage helps to loosen things up, and work on a trengthening program to allow your core muscles to take the beating, and that way your spine doesn't have to. Sedentary work/life is not good either.... Motion=lotion!
Her my answer: I like to do dumbell shrugs, and upright rows to work my traps.
I have a problem with my left trapezius. I haven't been able to lift weights for fear of hurting it more. What exercises can I do?
No heavy shrugs: Light upright rows and lateral shoulder raises can help work this area without taxing it too much.See 1 more doctor answer
After a open acj excision when can I begin range of movement/pt exercises or pendulum exercises. I understand that the deltoid/trapezius is separated.
Depends: It depends on the soft tissue repair at the time of surgery. Most of my patients do passive range of motion only for 6 weeks to protect the repair.
Yes: If you have an underlying painful neck condition, i.E degenerative disc disease/pinched nerve/disc bulge; performing aggressive trapezius strengthening exercises can aggravate it. Try and do strengthening exercises with out weights. Consider working with a knowledgable physical therapist to make sure you are doing the appropriate exercises. Discuss with your md if pt is recommended.See 1 more doctor answer
During exercise, I might have caused a mild muscle strain or rupture in the upper back area. Probably trapezius or rhomboideus muscle. What to do?
REST AND HEAT: If you just did it ice will work better to minimize the damage in the muscle. After that, rest and heat is the key to overcome the spasm in the muscle that causing the pain. You can do some stretching exercise to the muscle as well. Have some body apply icy hot on the area as well. Take aleve, (naproxen) or naprosen, it works better than ibuprofen on muscle. Good luck
Is it common for right trapezius muscle to be bigger on right? I don't exercise. My upper back on right has been hurting for one year. Ct chest clear
Are you right handed: That may be the most simple answer. If you are right handed, you perform more movements, carry more things, and generally work out your right arm and shoulder more than your left, which could easily account for some muscle asymmetry, right side larger than left. Ct of the chest probably included most of the trapezius muscles, and could be reviewed to look for any problems (unlikely).
Curved spine. Shoe lift. Been told by doctor that I have twisted ribs. I have immense left trapezius pain and daily exercise has not helped nor meds.
Need evaluation: You'll need a full evaluation by a scoliosis spine surgeon and a chiropractor with scoliosis experience. As a scoliosis trained spine surgeon, I am also available for a consultation if needed.
I get sick very frequently. Every fortnight I get cold and fever. I m a total gym freak with regular gymming. I eat out sometimes. Plz help wot to do?
Fevers: Next time this occurs go to your doctor with a full list of the times this has occurred, the symptoms you experienced, and be prepared to provide a detailed history of your medical conditions, social and sexual background, etc., and to undergo a detailed exam and labs as necessary. Good luck and hope this turns out to be nothing too severe.
Yes: Doing exercise at the gym is fine to do, even with low vitamin d levels. One should contact her doctor if she gets new symptoms during working out at the gym (increasing the intensity of workouts very gradually, makes it less likely to get the aches and pains of "over-use" symptoms. The doctor might prescribe 50, 000 units of vitamin d per week, if a patient is very low on her test results.
Yes, as long as. ..: Yes, enjoying work-out in gym as long as being tolerable and comfortable for you. Of course, realize the good thing always comes with its limitation for an individual; so let common sense rule life.

If a person with bipolar disorder is advised not to meditate or gymming. Why would it be? Does the person face difficulty in concentrating?
I had a myomectomy on 12december2012. I was told 4 weeks post op and I can start gymming. Is it too soon? Still feels swollen around the scar.
If ok with surgeon: Different surgeons may have different opinions but I think it is reasonable to begin low impact aerobic exercise and light weights with addition of increasing resistance over the next 3 weeks. Monitor your wound in the progress. It often takes up to 48 hours to assess pain and tenderness after a new exercise regimen do start slowly. Compression garments over the scar may help minimize swelling.
Hello. I have recently started gymming under the guidance of a personal trainer. Yesterday was my third session (mostly very lights weights and freestyle - no cardio since I'm quite skinny) and late at night I found a swelling / lump in my right groin. Th
Hey, Doctor I go to Gym daily & have started to INTAKE endura Mass as PROTEIN. Thus Should I take it 1 HOUR before Gymming OR Suddenly after Gymming?
Does not matter: If you are taking a mixed diet, there is no need for the protein supplement. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.
Can a obese person with vericose veins go gymming & do high intensity cardio work out or yoga? Do the veins feel extra pressure & worsen vericose vein
Obesity and veins: Obesity and varicose veins is not a contraindication to working out and yoga. In fact, exercise is good for improving venous return which will reduce the venous pressure. Cardio exercises such as spinning, elliptical, biking and stair climbing are better for the veins than pounding exercises such as running.See 2 more doctor answers
