See doctor: You should see a local doctor right away. You have an infection - at best a urinary tract infection but more likely cervicitis or pelvic inflammatory disease. You need a pelvic exam, swabs, and treatment before it gets worse and causes fever, dizziness, or even collapse.

Probably not: You may have irritated your urethra (tube you pee through) which is very close to the opening of the vagina. This is not unusual. I recommend drinking A LOT of water so that you keep flushing the urethra. The irritation should eventually diminish. If not better in a day, see a doctor or gynecologist to test for a urinary tract infection

Skin above urethra burned when peeing. Little redness, hurts to touch. Could it be from wiping, dryness (accutane), or tampon string? No STDs or UTI.

It is good idea to..: At least temporarily eliminate any imaginable and potentially irritating factors such as those you mentioned + gingerly apply 0.5% hydrocortisone skin cream for 3-5 day, and see. If not improving as usually expected in 3-5 days, seek timely evaluation & counseling so to deduce possible causes for what you have felt and for reasonable treatment/ care/ counseling.

Anatomy: You have to understand your bladder fills your pelvis as it collects urine. Your vagina is sitting right under the bladder. They are next to each other. If you are inserting the tampon in a way that presses on the bladder then yes, of course, you will fill the desire to pee. This is normal physiology.

Heavy flow: Every woman has a different flow and how heavy a period you have can change from cycle to cycle. If you are consistently having periods this heavy, see your Family Doctor or OB/GYN and have them test you for a bleeding disorder and also for anemia. You can also consult a local doctor on HealthTap

Urination: Hmm. Have you had any more problems? I have to think the sensation you felt was not actually to urinate. Maybe it was from pressure from the tampon. You would surely know it if you had a fistula or connection between your bladder and vagina. If in doubt, have an examination by a doctor.

Blood in urine: Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and you should be evaluated for a pregnancy, but visible blood in urine is never normal and should be evaluated by a urologist with imaging at a minimum and probably a quick look inside your bladder.
