Hmm: If it looks like scabies I normally treat with Permethrin 5% as sometimes there are only 6-8 Mites in your entire body leading to the negative skin scraping. Consider sending us a picture or seeing a dermatologist face to face and reconsider just treating for scabies. ...Read more

Post a photo: Many things can look as described. Both chicken pox (unlikely) and scabies are intensely itchy. Scabies does not form visible blisters but tracks with bumps spread out at relatively even intervals.

Pruritis.: Itchiness without rash is called pruritis. There can be many reasons for this. You need to see a dermatologist for a full workup. In then mean time, try sarna over the counter lotion as many times per day as you need to help with the itchy and start a daily regimen of zyrtec (cetirizine). Take consistently without fail to see if changes. The blisters on the hands may be dyshidrotic eczema. A derm can diagnose. ...Read more

Maybe not...: Scabies does not usually affect teh face, eyelids, etc, and I have never heard of scabies that doesn't itch; if these things happen at all, they are uncommon. Best to check back with the doctor who diagnosed and is treating your son. ...Read more
