What does a stomach swollen from ovarian cancer look like?

What does a stomach swollen from ovarian cancer look like?

Abdominal distention: It is the abdomen, not the stomach, that is swollen in some patients with advanced ovarian cancer. This is mainly due to accumulation of fluid (called ascites) within the abdomen. The fluid over time causes distention of the abdomen (just like what you would see in a pregnant women). The more the fluid accumulates, the more distanded the abdomen and patients may have discomfort and pain. ...Read more

Ovarian Cancer (Definition)

It is a cancer which arises from the ovary. This cancer is typically silent, producing little or no symptoms till it spreads, first into the pelvic area and later into the peritoneal cavity leading to fluid accumulation(ascites) which is often the first symptom. Despite its late presentation, there is a reasonable treatment for it, with some long term survivors even ...Read more

Stomach feels tight and bloated but dosent look bloated worried about ovarian cancer?

Stomach feels tight and bloated but dosent look bloated worried about ovarian cancer?

Proabably not: Most ovarian cancers don't reach enormous sizes to allow bloating or palpation. They metastasize readily and to a site of TGF-B, that is the omentum which produces a factor allowing ascetic fluid to fill the abdomen. At that time on palpation, the bloating is not from gas but from fluid distention. A qualified physician can tell on palpation or with somography if ovarian Ca is there. ...Read more

Hi could you tell me if you have stomach distention with ovarian cancer u are able to suck your stomach in or would it not be possible?

Easy does it: You would have a palpable mass in your lower abdomen. Like many other bright young people, you have the obsessive idea that you have a serious illness. The only treatment for this is to get your physician to order up a few imaging studies AND when they come back showing nothing, sit down with somebody wise and good and talk about what health, illness, and growing up mean to you. You'll gain much. ...Read more

I've been getting stomach aches for no reason, that last a while. Could it be ovarian cancer?

I've been getting stomach aches for no reason, that last a while. Could it be ovarian cancer?

No: Unless ovarian cancer is associated with metastatic disease to bowel causing intermittent intestinal obstruction, this lesion is usually painless. The tumor when it metastasizes goes to omentum and produces ascites where the belly first fills with fluid. Stomach aches are usually associated with gastric problems and may be controlled with antacids or acid inhibitors like Prilosec. ...Read more

Have high prolactin levels haven't had period for 6 months stomach is starting to become bloated but flat in the morning could I have ovarian cancer?

No. Don't worry!: High prolactin can be caused by a tumor in the pituitary (called a prolactinoma). It can also be caused by medications, hypothyroidism, or smoking marijuana. Do you know why your prolactin level is high? A high prolactin level can cause menstrual changes and infertility. Bloating is not usually a symptom, and bloating is common. This is not ovarian cancer! But you need an answer. Talk to your doc! ...Read more
