Can body rashes (elbow and kneews) be associated to teething?

Not probable: A rash behind the knees and elbows sounds more like eczema. Teething will not typically cause a rash. Have your childs rash looked at by his/her pediatrician or a dermatologist.

Teething: Teething often associated with excess salivation/mucous which in turn may be associated with vomiting and diarrhea. But those symptoms can also be caused by a virus infection. Important that you keep your child hydrated. Call your Pediatrician for examination/advice. Also take your child to a Pediatric Dental Specialist at her 1st birthday for initial oral evaluation & care program.

How long does drool rash associated with teething last?

How long does drool rash associated with teething last?

It depends: Any rash will last as long as the cause is present. Some good ways to deal with teething pain are teething rings or frozen wash clothes. Use tylenol (acetaminophen) for severe teething discomfort only. Try applying neosporin to the rash and keep the area clean wiping away saliva frequently.

Skin rash on my baby, could it be linked to teething?

Skin rash on my baby, could it be linked to teething?

No: Skin rashes on the body are not linked to teething. A drool rash on cheeks and neck could be linked to teething as teething often causes excessive saliva.

What causes babies to get nappy rash when teething?

What causes babies to get nappy rash when teething?

Not related: Nappy (diaper) rash and teething are two unrelated events that sometimes just happen to occur at the same time. Babies get nappy rash when their tender skin is in contact with a soiled diaper for too long a time. This can occur whether or not they are teething. One does not cause the other.

Can teething cause a rash on my 9 month olds face and forehead?

Can teething cause a rash on my 9 month olds face and forehead?

Possibly: If your baby is constantly drooling the skin can become irritated and red around the mouth and chin. If the child runs at it the irritation becomes more angry. Drooling is almost always associated with teething, rashes not always. Forehead rashes are not associated with teething and come from some other cause.

My daughter is teething and she has bad nappy rash. Is there anything good to use on the rash?

My daughter is teething and she has bad nappy rash. Is there anything good to use on the rash?

Yes: Typical diaper rashes respond to diaper cremes like desitin, (zinc oxide diaper cream) balmex, triple paste, dr flanders, calendula, etc. If it lasts more than three days with no improvement then it may be yeasty and using creams like tinactin, micatin, or a paste made out of probiotics can help.

Neosporin: Have you tried neosporin? It is best to apply it to dry skin. Any rash that persists more than 10 days should be examined by your pediatrician.

My 14month old daughter has a rash on her vagina she is teething, what can I use for this?

Could be yeast: If you have tried all the traditional treatments, it could be a yeast rash. Lotrimin (clotrimazole) cream sold over the counter can treat this rash.

Age of baby?: It's hard to say much about this without more history. How old is the baby? Does he have fever? How is he eating? Is his weight gain good? Does it seem to be an itchy rash? Does anyone else in the family have a similar rash? Any other contacts with illness? Any travel? The answers to these questions combined with visual exam can help diagnose. We may be able to help in a Prime Visit.

Loose link: There is no strong evidence that teething causes diarrhea or fever, contrary to popular belief. Green stools in an infant can be caused by infection, diet, or malabsorption. Babies with non-bloody diarrhea without vomiting, weight loss, fever or other signs of illness can be closely monitored for a few days, but beyond this should be evaluated for an underlying condition.
