Subclinical hyperthy: A low TSH with a normal T4 and no symptoms is usually subclinical hyperthyroidism. She may have a multinodular goiter that is autonomously functioning, or very early graves disease. A T3 (liothyronine) level and free T4 level should be checked. There is a higher risk of developing atrial fibrillation despite the normal T4 level, but many endocrinologists would just follow her levels for progression. ...Read more

Thyroid (increased T3 (liothyronine) and t4). What does this mean? Should I be concerned?

Thyroid (increased T3 (liothyronine) and t4). What does this mean? Should I be concerned?

Tell us TSH: Hi. Not enough information. Is TSH below normal? That's VERY important to know. T4 and T3 (liothyronine) can be elevated due to elevated thyroxine binding globulin (TBG) with completely normal thyroid function. It's better to measure free T4 and free T3 (liothyronine) than T4 and T3 (liothyronine) per se. So I can't tell you if anything is even abnormal without more information. ...Read more
